Radio2 Live: Coldplay - 30th August 2008 @ 7pm BST

Featured Replies

There are clearly hundreds of people more there than just the 180 who won tickets from Radio 2, I'm wondering if they are either senior BBC radio staff, and/or older relatives of the band.

The thing that makes me sick is the empty seats :(

When I get older losing my hair,

Many years from now.

Will you still be sending me a valentine

Birthday greetings bottle of wine.

If I'd been out till quarter to three

Would you lock the door,

Will you still need me, will you still feed me,

When I'm sixty-four.

You'll be older too,

And if you say the word,

I could stay with you.

I could be handy, mending a fuse

When your lights have gone.

You can knit a sweater by the fireside

Sunday mornings go for a ride.

Doing the garden, digging the weeds,

Who could ask for more.

Will you still need me, will you still feed me,

When I'm sixty-four.

Every summer we can rent a cottage,

In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear

We shall scrimp and save

Grandchildren on your knee

Vera, Chuck & Dave

Send me a postcard, drop me a line,

Stating point of view

Indicate precisely what you mean to say

Yours sincerely, wasting away

Give me your answer, fill in a form

Mine for evermore

Will you still need me, will you still feed me,

When I'm sixty-four.

 :laugh3:

sorry Ian... that's me always offtopic!

so anyone rip those video's from those greedy bbc-ers yet?

I don't think anybody meant elder people can;t be fans, it just seemed odd that most people there were older than expected meaning there was not as much variaty as usual... I'm not sure how to put this... ahhh whatever!

THANKS FOR UNDERSTANDING ME!! i started to think that you people believed i was against people over my age lool....

:laugh3:

The capacity for the theatre is 300, though I think Roadie 42 said it was 250 in his blog. Either way, there were a whole load of tickets not available to the public: 70-120 seats depending on which number one believes.

I was told that there was a massive BBC waiting list for this gig earlier in the day, about 45 minutes before Lost!, myself and another fan were given tickets for that night. There were at least 2 others who came down and ended up getting into the show as well.

I do know there were a fair amount of seats reserved for Parlophone and obviously Beeb staff. Regardless, the crowd was definitely into it. It was a brilliant night.

so I've just seen it and only one word can sum it up:

AMAZING

They just continue to blow me away every time...

Dunno if its been answered...but anyway for American fans to watch this?

I've already listened to it 3 times. Too bad i can't watch it !

OMG Deborah!!! THANKS SO MUCH! You're the best...I know we could download the whole thing, but apparantly it's in a diff format which you need a special player and I just didn't want to go through all that. Thanks for making it easier for us lazy people;)

From what I've seen so far it looks like the guys were sooo into it, great show!!! Chris sounds AWESOME. You know why...'cause he sat his ass down and played a lot more, instead of running around like a maniac like at a regular concert.:D Loove it!

Are you the guy in the red shirt next to Nettie?

I've only just watched this... I had no idea they came back on and played Strawberry Swing! That made my day, AND Chris said it's their favourite new song. The future's bright... the future's Strawberry Swing.
