Yeah that's true.I think a lot critics/magazines like to praise new bands/singers and help bring them to the top but then, after some time, start criticizing them once they've been around for a while.I noticed that a bit when I was living in Europe.

another positive:

they attract females and adult crowds.

 

and, it is true that gwenyth has helped them in their fame. Sad that that influences b (didnt influence me, i recently found out) but its true.

well I guess as Coldplay rises in importance Chris sort of fades back... this is kind of just an example, but a few of you know how I write fiction stories blah blah blah and now I find it harder to write in Chris persona than it was before, because all of those little crevasses of personality and all the small features get pushed underneath this over-inflated-by-the-media sweet, wouldn't harm a fly, charming, dreamy and sensitive exterior and don't get me wrong, that's part of who he is, but I want to know the other half of him that's been hidden by Coldplay's rerise to popularity again

negatives : they feel more far away from us than before in spite of their efforts to be close to the audience during gigs. some of the illusion is gone.

 

positives : their next album will be their masterpiece, integrating their former way of working with what they have learned when doing Viva. (I am already waiting impatiently for the EP in march, hope there will be songs we dont know yet ). even though all their work is already up there with other chef d'oeuvres. they are going to blow our minds still. again.

The more popular they get the more people will want to see them live, hence the more difficult it will be to get tickets and the more expensive the tickets will get.

 

I fear Gwynie will be the reason they split, I've always thought that she is to Coldplay as Yoko was to The Beatles.

I can't see the comparison between Gwyneth and Yoko either, Gwyneth has absolutely no input in Coldplay's music. In fact they go out of their way to make sure that their careers are as separate from their personal life as possible. I don't see how she can have any more influence on the band dynamic than any of the other wives/girlfriends.

I COMPLETELY agree. Viva La Vida has waaaaaaayyyyyyy more passion than X & Y.The different instruments, drums, strings, guitars they used is amazing and it makes a lot of difference.The strings for example!Fantastic!And I love the epic, grandiose lyrics of a lot of the songs.Don't get me wrong I love Parachutes and Rush but Viva LA Vida is just as great to me.It's brilliant and full of passion, just in a different way.

 

And, yeah, Gwyneth is NOT Yoko. She's great, stays away from what the band does

i have to agree with this because in what ever coldplay does she's always interfered in everything ,eventhough she does or not in each and everything they do her name is added every where.

 

like journalists asking chris what is your wife's reactions hearing these songs,but they aren't bothered to ask what is the whole world's people's reactions would be listening to these songs you wrote.See how highlighted she's every where in an example like this.When she's Chris's wife she has to like it whether she really likes or not.But the world it is not that case they'll not like it if they think that the music they've done is not cool.

 

some people in the world says that songs like cemeteries of london and strawberry swing are written for her when they absolutely doesn't know anything whether it is or not.Okay leave it but what ever they did with the album this time it is only because they want to improve themselves because they have to face a large criticism and negative reactions for X&Y.

What is so positive (and mature) about Chris and Coldplay is that they know how to not make the same mistakes as their predecessors at the top of universal succes.

I trust them to surround themselves with the best .. energies :)

Coldplay changed my life in 2003, and did so again this year, I wouldn't change that for all the tea in China (or even beer in Britain, which is a closer call!).

 

There are little disappointments of course, but for me it's like a small argument with one of your dearest loved ones - it may threaten to take the shine off a little from time to time, but that inevitably comes with having something so precious. It's not a negative - it's normal, just because some bits aren't as incredible as others!!
