Featured Replies

Hehe, soo, the part of Prospekt March we heard was actually th Poppy Fields. And PM is not Goldrush. And NMFWTTG is not related to either LIT2 or SS ....Wow! sweeeeeeet :_)))))))))))

Dont care about a leak but, I will wait. Buy 2 cd edition (always need spare VLV cd too), get home, shut all doors, put IT in my music station....and meditate looking at the album art!!!!! :P:P:P

AAAHHHH can't wait for this EP! The last track sounds so epic - I'm so glad it turned out to be its own song.

Must have it now :bigcry:

Good review, from the sample of Rainy Day thats out I also immediately picked up on a bit of Beck influence. Ah! cant wait till the EP is released, I just keep listening to those samples over and over and i absolutely love them.

LOL the first thing I said when I heard the rainy day sample was BECK! lol good to see others hear it too.

if the initial release will start as a mp3 format.. then I don't see it leaking anytime soon

MUST. HAVE. LEAK.

That post = my brain right now. :freak:

But it’s the final track, Now My Feet Won’t Touch The Ground, which is the most audacious thing the lads have ever recorded.

It begins in standard Coldplay ballad territory with delicate guitars and mysterious lyrics. Chris sings: “Push my bones from the highest cliff to the seas below/Swoop down from the sky and catch me like a bird of prey.”

Then Indian finger drums and a swelling array of trumpets and tubas arrive to take the track off into an extraordinary place.

It’s brilliant. As is this EP.

:o

:stunned::stunned:I WANT TO HEAR IT.that sounds great!

IT LEAKED!!!!!!

Got you.....

not funny.!! actually, it was kind of funny.

I don't know if this question has been asked but...

Is it only going to be available online or are they going to be at stores to?

yuppp that's exactly what i thought. i think it's pretty unlikely that they used a colliery brass band in more than one song.

I have a good feeling that both titles are lyrics in the same song, they just recently decided they liked the sound of this one better. I'm also positive that the horn section was sigur ros inspired.

I'm seconding that, totally!

Thirded. :freak:

IRISH EXCLUSIVE: Coldplay's 'Prospekt's March' reviewed

Hotpress.com got a sneak preview of Coldplay's musically adventurous new EP, which is due for release here on Nov 21. Could it mark the start of an exciting new direction for the band? Read on for the full verdict...

COLDPLAY

PROSPEKT’S MARCH EP [EMI]

For a long time Coldplay seemed determined to live up to Alan McGee’s snide “bedwetters music” jibe, making a succession of albums that affirmed their reputation as the go-to guys for tear-stained indie-rock introspection. On occasion they’ve flirted with change, but really it has been little more than a subtle batting of the eyelids, gestures that would go unnoticed by all but the most attentive of observers.

This year’s Brian Eno helmed Viva La Vida contained a few notable quirks but it was nothing more than a subtle shift in the modus operandi. How startling then to hear the Prospekt’s March EP. Combining everything from blustering rock riffs and crackling synths to Indian tablas and even a cameo performance from a hip-hop icon, this release hints at a hitherto concealed sense of adventure. Easing us in with a lyrics-supplemented version of ‘Life In Technicolor ii’ and the piano interlude of ‘Postcards From Far Away’, Coldplay then proceed to blast our expectations to smithereens with the Muse-style bombast of ‘Glass Of Water’.

‘Rainy Day’ pings pinball like between stylistic forms, beats and guitars clattering into a strings swathed chorus. Things become more recognisably Coldplay with the assured balladry of the title-track. Elsewhere Jay-Z adds an extra dimension to ‘Lost’ and ‘Lovers In Japan’ is refined a touch with the ‘Osaka Sun Mix’. With brass and Eastern embellishments, ‘Feet Won’t Touch My Ground’ brings a last chameleonic change. An intriguing and eminently listenable offering, only time will tell whether the Prospekt’s March EP indicates the band Coldplay could have been or might yet become.

Mwhahahaha another good review. Yay for Coldplay. We need a leak...

those reviews are made to kill us XDD

I'm screaming underneath...

is it just me or do you HATE, nay, LOATHE it when reviewers call Chris, Mr. Paltrow (not in this one, but in all most all of the other reviews)? It instantly takes all the credibility out of the reviewer. They're SUPPOSE to be reviewing the music and instead they focus on his private life. The guys have been making AMAZING music for some years now and all they wanna talk about is "uncool" the guys are. Yeah he married Gwyneth Paltrow. 5 FRIGGIN YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!!!!! MOVE ON!!!!!!!!!

He will always be Mr Paltrow. And IF they ever split he'll be ex Mr. Paltrow. Is ironic since he's far more successful than she is, but heyho :P

This reviews are fantastic. I can't wait for it to come out  I've listened to the LiTII preview sooooooo many times
