According to the description given on YouTube:

After declaring my love for Chris Martin from Coldplay, he replies back with 'you don't really love me. If you really got to know me you wouldn't love me. I fly to brisbane every few years for two days and then you'll be over me.'

awesome photos!

gosh...cant wait fr tomorrow...it will be my turn!! :D

one question though...

where were u standing sparks and kellie?

what time did u line up?

I personally think it's safe to get to the venue at least 2 hours before doors open... And to me, aiming for the techno stage (ie the end of the off-ramp on the right of the stage) is the best way to get super close to the band :-D

One of the best concerts I’ve been to! He was out of breathe for the first two songs (must have lost his voice the night before), but by the third song Chris Martin was into full gear, swinging and jumping around like a 10 year old with ADHD. Full points for enthuasism!

They started the set with Life in Technicolour (Instrumental) and ended it with the version with lyrics. Other highlights include:

Confetti during “Lovers in Japan”

A girl passing out during “Fix You”. Yes, right at the part where the guitars kick in

An acoustic set situated right in the middle of the audience far in the back row. I’m sure it was all rehearsed, but the band looked like they were really having a good time!

They threw huge yellow balloons into the crowd. Just take a guess which song was this.

A medley of “God put a smile on your face” and “Talk”

Drummer, Will Champion can sing!

The audience call for encore was the rousing “Whoooahh” from “Viva La Vida”

I love the the new album songs live, especially “42″, “Death and all his friends”, “Lovers in Japan” and “Viva La Vida”

Sing alongs for “The Scientist” and “Fix You”

That was a pretty good show, if you asked me!

I'll go ahead and say it; Brisbane is my favorite city in Australia. The reason is simple. Everything about it screams Chicago. If you don't look for landmarks and you ignore the side of the road that the cars are driving on, you could easily mistake the Brisbane architecture for buildings in Chicago. As far as size, it certainly doesn't compare to Chicago. It's different, but it undoubtedly reminds anyone who has been to it of Chicago. It was clean, safe, and surprisingly green for a big city. More on Brisbane later.

The big highlight of the trip, and the reason we went in the first place, was to see Coldplay. Any chance you get to see the biggest band in the world while studying abroad... well, it's a tough thing to pass up on. Coldplay is currently touring the world and they were here in Brisbane on Sunday and Monday. I had never seen Coldplay in concert before, but they were nothing short of amazing. Our seats were nothing spectacular (they were behind the stage and to the right), but it was certainly a fine view. The crowd was awesome for a Monday, it was definitely sold out. The concert really made me realize how much I appreciate Coldplay's older songs compared to their newer stuff on Viva La Vida. The new stuff was great, but the old stuff is just impossible to beat. Luckily, they didn't just stick to their new songs; there were a lot of old ones mixed in.

We made it back to our hotel after the concert, but because of a long cab ride and a late ending concert, it was pretty late. If it wasn't a Monday night, there might have been something to do. As it was though, the area was pretty much dead. We checked out the casino, which was fairly cool, but there were not really any bars or nightlife accessible nearby. The only people out seemed to be people coming back from the concert like us. However, with a little exploration, we found what has to considered one of the gems of the southern hemisphere; The Pancake Cafe. It was a bar that served liquor and pancakes located in an old church. An absolute testiment to human invention. They had quite possibly the best pancakes I've ever had, and certainly the best butter. Combined with their chocolate and butterscotch sauce and awesome maple syrup it was an awesome experience. I didn't have anything to drink, but I can't imagine the appeal of beer and pancakes together.
