Guys before you pass judgement on the song, please please make sure you listen to it at least FIVE times. Yes I know it sounds dumb but that´s how it worked for me and some on the forum too. The first time I heard it I was like UH? I hate this. Second time pretty much the same. The third time I started noticing the haunting chorus. Fourth time the song started creeping under my skin. After the fifth listen, I can´t wait to listen to it again! My point is: this is a song that needs a few listen as it is a lot more about the ambience and haunting effects of the voices and lyrical theme than it is about the melody. So give it 5 chances and then you can say you hate it :)

+10000000000000 It's really an 'haunting' track that stucks in your head like a ghost. Love it!

Plus, Chris is experimenting again with his voice, the boys with the sounds, it's good to see them break the habit sometimes!

As for U2, I didn't find the song great. It's OK but not amazing...Very safe stuff. Plus, look at Adam, he just seats there with 3 notes to play XD My poor lad...!

But I can't wait for their new album...

Wow, for once Chris Martin is taking part in something that is authentically musically different and intriguing. Sure wish more of this type of experimenting was on Viva.

Not sure that the experimenting stuff would have fit on Viva... But on LP5...I hope they do more of that stuffs and also come back at some points to their 'parachutes roots'...

Not sure they ever really left the Parachute roots...they are well and alive in tracks like Prospekt´s March. They are just more layered with guitars, drums and bass parts instead of just being bare acoustic songs. I think Parachute was super but it was kind of a one man show with a lot of piano and little of everything else. I think now they function more like a band than they ever did...my two cents anyway

True but what I meant it's now, like Guy said once, they're creating sounds for 'fiiling stadium' and not for 'themselves' like in Paruchutes. And this 'intimacy' feeling, like on Prospeckt's march should not be forgotten once in a while... :)

I think a lot of songs on both VLV and PM do not fill stadiums and they are very intimate in my opinion. Also the fact that they can take "big" tracks like Lovers in Japan and still give it a haunting deep feeling really shows how talented they are. Besides a lot of b-sides songs from the Parachute era were downright depressing to be honest..I am glad they cheered themselves up a bit :)

:laugh3: aggreed!

Did anyone notice the great guitar part just after Chris sings " I am all alone" and the song enters the chorus? Ahhh Johnny....

I'd rather not listen to a song I don't like five times. :dozey:

wow wow wow :D Chris Martin & Kylie Minogue :D love them!

I totally hear you! I did not want to listen to it again after the second time, but in all honesty it does take that many listens to get into the song so to speak. I am not saying it´s Coldplay´s best song or anything like that but it IS very haunting and beautiful in its own unique way and as the sound is SO different from what we are used to hear from Coldplay, it can take a while to pick up the nuances that make this song quite good. Do give it a few more tries ;)

Like everyone says, not what I expected...but it's nice... not amazing, but nice. :)

I think the song is great!

However, I'm only able to listen via the msn link. Is anyone else having trouble downloading it via redwire.com? The site just seems to be busy all the time.

well fine. then don't give it a try! i forgive you though as you have hotter icon than 90% of the people on this forum

^^ In all honesty, I think links should be allowed until the song becomes commercially available.

The site is not busy. It says " Coming Soon". The song will be downloaded to your redwire player once you are subscribed to the redwire monthly subscription. Read all the rules here:

I went from seriously disliking Lhuna to having real affection for it. Oh it'll never be one of my favourites but hey, its different, and that's not bad.

after listening to Lhuna, I now want to cut my wrists. I didn't hold much hope for it to be much good what with kylie being involved, but not so depressing I want to kill myself!!!

its not the worst coldplay song ever, but definatley in my top 5 most disliked.

I'm wondering if coldplay will contribute to redwire with other new tracks in the next time..

Well, Kylie fans think it's boring.

Does that mean it's somewhat even? :P

I can't understand it. How can this song be getting so much flack? It's far from amazing, but it's decent, I mean come on now, it's a simplistic different-sounding song from our boys. Experementing is good, it won't affect them because it's just a single for charity, not the centre of attention on LP5.

I understand it being an opinion, but people really have to look at this in perspective: they were nice enough to give us a song, another one, to satisfy a craving...now whether you like it or not is a different debate, but I still think it should be appreciated for what it is.

I hope that rambling made some sense.

After having an initial dislike for the song, I now can not stop listening to it at least twice a day, usually before going to sleep LOL Not because it makes me sleep, but because it is so dreamy, relaxing and haunting and the lyrics are just so mysterious and longing...If you listen to it with good headphones on , you can make out some nice nuances, especially from Johnny. For me it is a solid addition to the wealth of songs Coldplay gave us this year! Now I really want that REDWIRE thingy to start soon so I can download the song or at least subscribe to receive it sometime in the future...

It sounds amazing with headphones on!

It doesn't say "Coming Soon" for me. When I tried to subscribe, I had a message saying that the site was busy because of so much interest in it! I'm supposed to be getting an email from them though when the site is ready, so it's OK now.

I also subscribed on Nov 30 and got an email saying they would contact me when the service is up and running. Let´s hope that is gonna be soon and that Lhuna is the first weekly download :D
