Updating as fast as I can, it's a lot of nominations :P

I am so glad that they got nominated but I don't feel good about some of them. I have concern over Adele and her song, "Chasin Pavements." The Grammys have this weird thing where they like to give the awards to not-well known artists. Remember Norah Jones and how she won big though nobody really knew who she was? I got a feeling it's going to be like that. I do hope I'm wrong. I just wish I can predict winners in music as well as I do in football(soccer) games.

Phew, post updated :)

There's no way they can lose 7 times, that'd be ridiculous... I have hope! :D

I'm confident they will win many awards, I was worried about the X&Y album, especially since they went up against U2 and Green Day. This year they will dominate, and prove to everyone that they are indeed the best band in the world.

This may interest you all...

I wonder if Coldplay leads all the artists in terms of the number of nominations. They have seven and I wonder if any other artist has seven or more nominations. I hope not.

I think they will win some but I am not totally positive that they will win them all. The Grammys are a tricking bunch and they are hard to predict at times.

^ Awww, they could have "his and her" Grammy awards! :P

Lil Wayne has 8.

Coldplay is second at 7.

Jay-Z, Neyo, and Kanye West are third with 6.

And this is great. There's no way they can lose all 7 nominations. Right? Right? Right?

My guess is that they'll win Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance at least, maybe Record of the Year too... I don't feel too confident about the ones where they're up against Radiohead :\

YESSSSSS! YESYESYEYEYESYESY! i'm so excited :D

maybe you should update with this list so people know who they're up against..

I think they'll win like 3-4. One of the big ones hopefully. They DEF won't lose them all. They'll at LEAST get the rock categories.

So happy!!!!!

I just have to say: WTF?! Why was Death Cab nominated for their worst song/album ever? I really did love them until their new album...

Hey btw, you have to change the title of the thread because it's 2009 Grammy Nominations!!

  • Author

^ Yeah, I know, I made a typo :dunce:

EDIT: Changed :)

Looking at the competition, I really do think Viva La Vida has a good chance at either Song or Record of the Year, so Clocks won't feel so lonely anymore. And I'm not too impressed with much of its competition. I mean, Bleeding Love? Bah, most downloads and extensive Top 40 exposure do not necessarily make a good song. Album of the Year may be a little more difficult, especially with Radiohead, but it's not out of the question. Rather doubtful about the categories Violet Hill has been nominated for, however, as I think those are some much stronger contenders than what VLV has to go against.

But yeah, never cared for the AMA's, but the Grammy's really are the big deal, so this is where it's gonna count most. And I truly feel that where they've been robbed in past awards, they'll take home the gold here by winning a good few.
