Why have I deserved it? Anyway i thought we were friends? :dozey:, I'm used to it, people hate change and just shout at me!

CHANGE IS BAD RAAAWWRRR

Change is bad when it is unnecessary and over-organised

Jack and I have been doing things to make the Lounge a better place and I think it's worked, It's fun posting here atm

You coming in with a committee which is basically just gunna stick extra "Rules" (quoted because they would not actually be aprt of the official rules) and make it less fun

Why have I deserved it? Anyway i thought we were friends? :dozey:, I'm used to it, people hate change and just shout at me!

We are friends. Ok, from now on Im on your side until im sure this thing wont work. Maybe you didn't deserve it. Maybe I should stop listening to everyone...

There is this verse I like in the Smash Mouth song: Allstar.

Somebody once asked could you spare some change for gas

I need to get myself away from this place

I said yep what a concept

I could use a little fuel myself

And we could all use a little change

being friends doesn't mean that you both have to agree in everything

^I suppose thats true as well but it does mean i shouldnt be against him

against him is not the same that disagree with one of his ideas

if i didn't agree with everything nathan did, he wouldn't let me come around to play playstation.

I have a solution to the problems..

:lock: all committee threads. :)

that'd make things so boring though...

Boring? We'll find something else to laugh about.

i just dont understand why, if so many members of coldplaying (including at least 3 mods) are against this committee, you're still going on with it. there is hardly anyone who wants it yet you refuse to end it. if you actually did care about this forum maybe you'd listen to the majority of its members and stop with this stupid committee stuff.

and if you refuse to end it you could at LEAST be fair about it and let everyone's ideas be voted on... like the logos you neglected to include in this stupid poll.

but they're doing great things for this forum!!!!

you're doing great things for my soul, briggins

i can't believe this argument is still going on. hasn't the committee been given a chance? as far as i can tell, it hasn't come out with anything. and yet it's still being forced on by its self-appointed chairman, who is already acting borderline despotic by not including every submission, despite his personal opinion on them.

Well okay, thats your opinion, we are not shoving it in peoples faces but the meetings are a nice place to brainstorm ideas AND we can help organise things ;)

can't anyone brainstorm ideas anywhere, without a committee? i don't see why there needs to be a committee to do that, and if like three people are coming to the meetings, i doubt that a hell of a lot is going to get done. i also think that whoever thinks of whatever ideas should be the one to organize whatever needs to be organized. i doubt lore and everyone else that worked on the postcards project, for example, would have wanted to ship off the idea to some committee whose members might not have been there while the idea was taking shape. i think it's presumptious to assume that this committee, which consists of simon and whatever random members wanted to join, not necessarily people with experience or anything like that, will be any more beneficial or pump out any more ideas than any other less official group of coldplayers. i think that the best ideas happen spotaneously, not when they're forced out. and i'm not saying that you need to have "experience" to create a good idea, but i think it's self-serving to think that everyone was going to jump on the bandwagon and be gung-ho about a committee with no real credentials, and that no one besides simon anymore really sees the need for anyway.

you have to realize, simon, that people aren't trying to bully you, they're trying to make you see why you're being a bit ridiculous in this whole thing. you're just showing you're naivite by barrelling on with no concrete reasons behind anything you're saying.

Chelsea, I love you

well thanks, lore. i wish i didn't post such long posts, though :P

it's just beginning to irrationally piss me off now, so i thought i'd do one of my classic rambling posts

can i just say right...

i don't have any problem with the committee. yeah, i think it's a bit pointless, but it's not taking up any of my time and i'm not a part of it so i don't care. if you think it's being forced upon you, then you need to just like, look at a thread title and then make the decision not to go in it.

me? i don't have a problem with other people putting their time in to something that they clearly feel is good. whether i think it'll work or not, it'll be worth their effort if they can make one thing happen.

the enjoyment i get out of it is just innocently mocking the idea. i don't think they should cancel it. i don't think it's a negative thing, but i do think simon's probably going about it in the wrong way. i think his comments about how they're working on things are slightly arrogant, not intentionally but it gives everyone higher expectations, and i think if they don't come up with a change the world idea, people will say that it was a failure.

the fact is, for me, this committee has helped make this board fun for me. not in the way it was supposed to, but i've enjoyed making a rival committee as a joke, and then when that wore off, i enjoyed making a logo/banner to enter humourously into the competition. and then the tag of "bullying" that comes along with that is what created another thing that i've enjoyed about here. the usual suspects.

my logo, my committee, nathan's logo, these things aren't made to shut down this committee. i don't think the committee has much of a point, and i think simon probably needs to change his tactics a bit, like not to be so forceful on the "public". i think they've got a set up now, they should just disappear into the background and work on things, and then show themselves when they actually have results. but yeah. i don't want it to be destroyed and forcefully removed, just because a few people have had fun making funny little banners about it.

that'd be childish of me...

hmmmm dont feel like reading through this thread or anything bout the committee soo..

1. Why do all the logos look the same?? there is two butterflies and two other similar ones. Switch them up a bit.

2. What the hell is the committee, who started it, and whats the point of it?, just wondering... I could read the threads about it.. i tried....

1) They used pictures of me without my permission which is illegal

Those paparrazi are in the right shitter then :P.

I agree 100% with Chelsea, that is totally correct what she said.

And I have to say that Jacks post was very level headed, and that shows that nobody is really trying to be malicious.

Your not going to get a good answer for that one no matter who you ask.

It is in fact a pointless committee with no real sense of purpose.

Anytime...:)
