Just because you can't see a response, doesn't mean something isn't happening. None of you have access to the moderator's forum, so therefore none of you are aware of the discussions happening in there, and the ongoing issues which need resolving. The day to day running of this message board takes more than just posting a few messages & removing spam.

 

There are different responses to different events. Banning someone who keeps rejoining with new usernames every time is a pretty pointless excercise, so other plans have to be devised & actions taken. Plus, banning people is a last resort on this forum. You really have to push & push for us to turn round and take that action, or do something in extreme contravention of the T&C's.

 

Some threads/posts need moving straight away, others can be left whilst an issue is sorted.

 

Not every response requires the same action.

 

 

Okay, I've not posted in this thread yet, but I have just spent a good ten minutes of my life reading everything that's been said here, and I think that Jenjie has a fair point here, but so do other people when they say that there are other problems going on here, not just this one thread that got 'deleted'. But then I thought, is spamming a bit really as bad as making fun of someone who is dying with an incurable cancer? I don't think so. Neither are good, but spam doesn't normally offend of cause controversy, just annoyance. My two cents.

So you made a thread full of 'jokes' about a woman dying of cancer, and given the nature of jokes are to make people laugh because of humour, you did effectively make a thread to say "LOL SHE IS DYING OF CANCER LOL DEATH LOLOLOLOLOL"

Thing is though, that thread wasn't made in 'right way', and obviously the mod's agreed.

We do whatever we deem necessary to make this an enjoyable place, but we cannot please everyone, we just can't.

All this demanding answers and throwing accusations just smacks of ingratitude to me. You all come here every single day and take advantage of this board like it just appeared here as if by magic one day, with absolutely no consideration to the time/effort/money that goes into it.

 

I understand that we do things sometimes that you may not agree with or don't understand, but we're trying our hardest to make this place somewhere people feel comfortable coming to. Believe it or not we're not just here to try and piss you off, exactly the opposite.

All I said before was a) when you make statements, don't fill them with empty and "be quiet no more discussion on this kthx"-esque sentences, because Jenjie's first statement, in your terms, "smacked" of them. I pointed this out as a *helpful suggestion* and Nathan wonders why the hell his thread got removed, both of us get called answer demanding. I have never asked much more other than some small explanation as to what the hell was going on in some cases and tried to vocalise my opinion. I've tried my utmost best to bring some intelligent discussion to this forum and abide by the rules, like any other good forum member. Yet I get called "ungrateful". The last site I was on that had this sort of thing going on quickly became populated by members aged 7-14, stunk of just "hey look at mah ms painted neon colord artz wolfies!" "zomg so cool!" and did not cater for any older members that actually wanted to talk something other than crappy wolf art, "ZOMGZ DRAMA!" and have a nice healthy discussion and debate (Yeah, I'm talking about you, BaltoSource, once good website turned crap).

 

Look, I realise that a forum of 37,000+ members is going to be hard to moderate. Fair enough. There is going to be a chockload of spam and personal problems that have to be sorted out as well as the occaisonal troll and general sucky thread. b) Personally, I did not find Nathan's jokes offending, as he has stated many many times before whatever he says on the forum is often entirely joking and definitely not to be taken seriously, and he wasn't all "LOLOLOL JADE GOODY HAS CANCER NAO SHE IS GUNNA DIE ROFLOLMAOZOMGHAHA".

 

Then people took him seriously when he joked about cancer - if I didn't know Nathan always was kidding around, sure, I might be offended, I might say "dude - not cool" and if I had the choice of action to be taken, lock thread, but that decision is not up to me. Another point I was trying to make before, was that to me the Cyanide & Happiness thread created by myself was way more insulting than just making a joke about cancer once. I will show you how many times it jokes about something serious.
