I'm liking The Age Of The Understatement and there's a live version of it on youtube which sounds even better imo :) 3 or 4 other live tracks from the album are on youtube too if you just do a search.

The single doesn't do anything for me, but will give some other songs a listen. :)

That song has really grown on me since I posted that.

it's definitely a grower.

 

i wonder if it's a "one-album-and-then-that's-it" project, though.

I wasn't that interested- guess I was expecting Arctic Monkeys part 2. Figured I'd listen eventually. Eventually came yesterday.

 

What I was not expecting was a 60s-ish James Bond style epic. It's brilliant! This is the sort of music that I've been complaining for years now that no one makes anymore. Did I mention wow?

Reminds me of Knights of cydonia... I will buy this... one day.

Definitely a contender for best album of the year.

 

I prefer this to Arctic Monkeys myself.

 

Oh, and I saw The Rascals live yesterday and they were pretty good as well.

Miles Kane has a bigger influence than Alex Turner on this record I think, judging by his band's songs.

Number one in the UK album charts. Well deserved.

Yea i'm liking it, seems like it could be a great albums after quite a few listens. it hasent settled in yet.

i like it the song "age of the understatement" is great

great side project ! to me, it's slightly better than Arctic monkeys.

I've seen them live 3 times, admittedly they got better each time, but they were still a poor band

Live I can't make a comparison because the last shadow puppets forgot the south/south east

OMG, great duo, "Heat of the Morning" is a great song...love the whole 60's/James Bond influence...very unique, didn't get the credit it deserved in the States!

 

My friend saw their acoustic set in Brooklyn (or the Bronx?), said they did a great job.
