What's the best song to get someone into Coldplay?

Featured Replies

In your opinion, what's the best song to get someone into Coldplay?

My opinion:

If you want to get a lady into Coldplay, present her a calm and cheerful song, like Green Eyes or See You Soon (some Guy's pictures could help ).

If you want to get a gentleman into Coldplay, present him a fast and catchy song (one of Coldplay's hits), like Clocks, Speed of Sound or Viva La Vida.

Hmmm so many, for a Woman

Everythings Not Lost, Fix You, Yes, Spies, In My Place.

For a Man,

Viva, Speed of Sound, Politic, Cemetaries of London, Lost.

hell I dunno:D

i would say Clocks or In My Place

Ladies: See You Soon, The Scientist, Swallowed In The Sea

Gentlemen: Square One, Talk, Politik

:D

I'd say Don't Panic.

spot on!

In general? Any of the four singles that were the biggest from their respective albums (Yellow, Clocks, SOS, VLV). Use that to ease them into some other singles, and then jump into their non-single material. Keep it mainstream at first to make the less known stuff more accessible.

Gender-specific is difficult to say. I hooked a girl into Coldplay using Fix You, and as a man, I jumped in with Speed of Sound.

Lady- yellow fix you, swallowed in the sea

Guy- Speed of song, Viva la vida, clocks, politic

Viva la Vida, Clocks, or Lovers in Japan are always good songs, they got my friends hooked :)

Well the song that got me to buy the first album was trouble. And the song that got me to buy album two was the scientist, after that my fandom was cemented. My sister got hooked by In My Place, and my brother got into them with Speed of Sound.

Non, just show them a picture of Guy humping his bass.

I would say Clocks.Everyone I know likes that song and knows that song even if they dont really listen to them.

Ladies: See You Soon, The Scientist, Swallowed In The Sea

Gentlemen: Square One, Talk, Politik

:D

That's what's up!

the first song i ever heard by them was clocks, & i liked them right away. but the song that really hooked me was violet hill. my favorite coldplay song, it's so amazing

Any of their biggest hits: Yellow, Clocks, Fix You, The Scientist, Speed of Sound, Viva La Vida...

...but... i'd say shiver, swallowed in the sea, i ran away...

I just got a friend hooked by playing her LIJ, VLV, Clocks, LITii, and then Violet Hill and The Scientist... Now she's going to one of my concerts with me :D

Mwahahaha, Coldplay brainwashing is the best :sneaky: :P

Well all the ones that have been said would get a male to like them are my favourites and all the suposed female ones are my least favourites, although I still love those songs, just not as much. I don't think gender has anything to do with music preferences. Heck, some guys might love a soppy love song like, I dunno, summer nights from Grease, (first thought in my head) and some girls love heavy metal. Its just personal taste.

I think to get someone into Coldplay, play a song they wouldn't have been ambushed by on the radio like VLV, clocks and Yellow have been. For a slower sweeter song i'd say Swallowed in the Sea, and a faster one maybe Glass of Water. Shiver would be my choice from Parachutes and from AROBTTH i'd say, hm its a hard choice, Warning Sign or God Put a Smile Upon Your Face.

Yellow, Trouble, Viva la Vida... but most of all, The Scientist.

Those songs got a few of my girl-friends hooked.

Oh... and 42 as well! :D

The songs from Viva la Vida and Death and All His Friends seem to have garnered the most attention from people who usually listen to the Top 40...

But I got hooked from Yellow, and The Scientist made me fall in love with the band.

Yes, it was The Scientist. And then, a little later I watched the iTunes commercial and fell in love with Viva La Vida.

Yellow is great for brainwashing friends :D

  • 3 weeks later...

The songs I've gotten my friends hooked on are...

Fix you

Viva la Vida

Yellow

and The Goldrush. Even though it wasn't one of their best known songs, when my friend heard that she got hooked on Coldplay.

It depends on the person's music taste. But generally, I'd say

Lady: See you Soon, Swallowed in the Sea, Yellow

Man: Clocks, Speed of Sound, Lovers in Japan
