Holy God, that sounded awful. Just very WTF the whole way through...what is with the uhuhuhuhuhuh thing she does lol...and her vocals...and did I hear Gwyneth's name in there? She could have just said it was bad, and sounded less like less of an ass.

"Fix You" just doesn't sound good with anyone but Chris' voice. Jonas Brothers just need to stick to what they do best. Crappy music.

I wasn't feeling the arrangement but she's got some good pipes.

Now I agree it's rather shoddy but most of you are missing the point.

A) It's a cover version and can be interpreted any way the artist feels like. It doesn't HAVE to sound identical to the original. Which, if it did, wouldn't be ORIGINAL.

B) It sounded rather off the cuff and I doubt it's something she's rehearsed. She's got the talent to probably whip that up right off the top of her head.

C) Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Sounded horrible!:wreck:

Have not heard it. Will not hear it.

:bomb:

GAH! i promised myself, that i would not listen to this. I PROMISED. WHY DID I DO THATTT??? i only listened to about 15 seconds, but it was pure agony. if you haven't watched it, keep it that way. oy, who does she think she is?

:bigcry:

Well, I made it through about 14 seconds, and they were very bad seconds. What a tool.

No doubt that she's got a good voice but this is prententious shit. She completely missed the point of the song, the song is built for flowing and building, not for a bunchy of jerky quirky stop start crap.

Also major props for the Picard pic, that's going straight into my "sick burn" folder.

I can't get over how wierd it is!

lol, i listened to it a second time to hear what else she gets wrong and at the end she says a little viva la vida.

no.

i admit that she has an awesome voice.but she shouldn't have sung that song :smug:

I've got to say to everyone here who don't like this song and thinks she "Murdered it" maybe you need to open up your mind???

I think Coldplay should be happy that she covered it and I think we all should be grateful too. If you look at her a little closer she is a classical trained pianist and a song writer, an artist that has been in the industry a long time she is a big fan of the band and that to me is enough.

I think this version is very artistic!!! LOVED IT CAN'T STOP LISTENING!!!

I don't know what I find more embarrassing, her crap version of Viva or your stupid comments! Oh dear.

I've never heard anything of her before, I think she has a nice voice, but she shouldn't profane this song with this performance (Yeah, her blond head on the silver plate, which she mention in the song could be a redress for me :P)

I guess she could record a 'nice' "Viva la vida" version at the studio, with more than just a piano, maybe even with Coldplay, but I do not think that it is necessary

Well and comparing to Solange's version ;/ - this is a masterpiece. ;)

The original video was also unavailable in my country, but I found this - maybe it will work for you?

OMG.....that was soooo awful its unbeliveable....y try changing the lyrics if you dont know the proper lyrics.

like chris says about Les Dawson...you need to be able to play a song very well to play a song that bad

I had never listened to her 'till now and...what a SHOCK!

''Be my Chris and I'll be your Gwyneth'' --> :freak:

Sorry you feel that way. I just have a wider love for music than just Coldplay!

Oh and I'm not stupid so don't use harsh words!!! I have an opinion so do you we just don't agree!

total shit:(

i don't like these kind of "artists" that have no idea of writing their own songs or create their own melodies for their songs

there is a lot of work behind every coldplay song, i think and there is no line without a sense

but if you listen to songs from lady gaga (by the way: : in germany gaga means crazy:laugh3:) or other atists like her you won't find a deeper sense in any song

it's just commercial

so as long as she couldn't write her own songs she should leave the good ones to the good bands ;)

What because her interpretation was so much deeper than what we're used to? You're talking about someone who wrote songs for the pussycat dolls. She clearly can't sing, the whole thing was disgustingly nasal (like gwen stefani with the flu). The only thing I can compare her horrid "ahn! ahn! oh!" interlude is to Janice of friends.

(I'm assuming she invented that because singing the actual melody would make it blatantly clear how she pales in comparison). The fact that she insisted on screwing around with "funny accents" was insult to injury.

If you've discovered a side of your brain that creates apathy for this sort of musical crime, please inform us. Because evidently you are the only one that isn't absolutely repulsed by it. But you're entitled to your opinion, so i won't hold mine against yours.

She can butcher whoever she chooses to. If she has any nice chopin interpretations, I'd love to hear them...because her own music is pretty pathetic IMO

Honestly, you guys are being way too hard on her. I love the spin she puts on it, she just doesn't execute it well. I would love to hear somebody like Christina Aguilera sing this.

I actually watched part of that. She completely bastardized the wonderful ooooohhhhs into oh oh oh oh woh oh woah ho ho ho ah oh. WTF? That's my favorite part of Viva and she ruined it. Also, NO cowbell. That sucks. And she was waaay to melodromatic.

I thought I would think it was okay and everyone else was overreacting, but this is shit.

Wow Coldplay are ace!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can anyone ever compare to THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obviously not!

Coldplay forever! Coldplay rule!
