April 27, 200917 yr  This is all so terrible . It'll be like SARS in the quickness of spreading, etc... It just came up on the news here "All flights into Australia from North or South America will have to report any passengers with flu-like symptoms before the aircraft is allowed to land." :\ I hope this gets nipped in the bud soon... Without meaning to sound naive but the way which ventilation works on a plane with recirculated air etc, if one person has it, isn't it likely to infect most of the other passengers?. This has the potential to be very bad and I really hope it doesn't get any worse, the fact that every person in the US that has contracted it has made a full recovery is surely a good sign?.Perhaps Mexicos healthcare system was unprepared?, but then most places would be as no one was expecting it.

I think this has all been blown out of proportion. Flu always has the potential to kill if your immune system has been weakened in some way, and it's inevitable there will be another pandemic at some point. It's just a question of when. Everyone panicked about bird flu and ultimately nothing much happened.

April 27, 200917 yr 20 cases in the US, I believe that this virus may be some sort of bio terrorism... The virus contains structures from avian, human, and swine influenzas. I'm no biologist, but that isnt normal... Not in nature anyway. I agree with you on that part, is pretty strange that. Btw it has hit Spain already, there were 3 cases (yet not confirmed i think).
April 27, 200917 yr Yeah, I don't think it will be all that bad, remember Bird Flu! This is more serious than bird flu in that it can actually be transmitted between humans, but at the end of the day, it isn't the first flu that's "appeared" and it won't be the last. Panicking every time there's an outbreak of something is just plain daft.;)
April 27, 200917 yr 7 more deaths because of this were announced this morning..... Maybe you could keep your cool in situations like this Mark and i agree it doesn't help to panick, but when there's so many deaths involved, no vaccine for it and all you get is reccomendations to "try" and prevent it, people tend to freak out. And i don't think they are "daft" it's just human nature.
April 27, 200917 yr This is old news, they just came out this morning with another press release, the sky is falling. A ton of people die each year from the normal flu we all get....this isn't a big deal at all.
April 27, 200917 yr No more school until may 6th, clases are now suspended in the entirety of the country....
April 27, 200917 yr i've heard that on the new pris. :( i've also heard that there are some medicines to avoid it and that just army have it or something like that.
April 27, 200917 yr :stunned: I haven't read or heard any of that... all i've heard is that doctors/nurses, basically people working at hospitals are getting vaccinated...
April 27, 200917 yr Mayor Bloomberg is on the news right now and he said there are 28 confirmed cases of the Swine Flu in NYC right now but he is not alarmed
April 27, 200917 yr i've heard that on the news here, but what i can't remember if they said US army or spanish army. (the news today spent like 30 mins talking about that, and then they expect people won't get panicked about that :\ )

I doubt it, at least on Mexico; I mean the kind of terrorism here would be more traditional like bombs... although I do think this is quite strange i've heard that on the new pris. :( i've also heard that there are some medicines to avoid it and that just army have it or something like that. mexican government already have millions of antivirus medicines, but not vaccines... is not that bad, like one thousand people have already recovered of the disease You won't die my friend, have fait . I'm going to see a doctor, hope it's just a cold
April 27, 200917 yr Good luck Ricardo hope everything goes well, i'm sure it's just a regular cold :nice: Just keep being careful  28 confirmed?? I watched CNN on saturday and it was only 5
April 27, 200917 yr Gosh, even in Southeast Asia the news is considered HUGE. :uhoh: Hope this wouldn't be as huge as bird flu in Asia 4 years ago.. :worried: *prays*
April 27, 200917 yr Gosh, even in Southeast Asia the news is considered HUGE. :uhoh: Hope this wouldn't be as huge as bird flu in Asia 4 years ago.. :worried: *prays* very curious that. around previous US elections was the bird flu, now this one is not that long ago since last US elections  and the new flu is a mutation of bird flu with another animal. :worried: there were 3 cases in Spain yesterday, now there are more possible cases, even 3 possible cases in my region, yet only a case has been confirmed and the guy affected seems is recovering well. all that sounds very worrying.
April 27, 200917 yr the problem is that the flu is in mexico city, and thousands of the tourist come and go daily... The ones that have more problem are of course Guatemala and USA for being border and Canada, USA, Spain and maybe Japan because of tourism
April 27, 200917 yr Good idea, for many reasons...like interrupting the drug flow all the way up the I-5 corridor. (which is killing more than any flu ever will) Go figure.:dozey: :dozey:  :embarassed: drug traffic aint stopping anyway
April 27, 200917 yr Gosh, even in Southeast Asia the news is considered HUGE. :uhoh: Hope this wouldn't be as huge as bird flu in Asia 4 years ago.. :worried: *prays* Oh dear  aaaah! :bigcry: Breath, everything will be fine.... just don't let it get to your head or you're gonna have a panick attack :P very curious that. around previous US elections was the bird flu, now this one is not that long ago since last US elections  and the new flu is a mutation of bird flu with another animal. :worried: there were 3 cases in Spain yesterday, now there are more possible cases, even 3 possible cases in my region, yet only a case has been confirmed and the guy affected seems is recovering well. all that sounds very worrying.
