August 1, 200916 yr there seemed to be lots of swine flu in my lastest trip to the UK. I hope I did not get it... ! My family put one of my cousins in quantintee as they suspect she has swine flu, but now she has gone to turkey. Lets hope she doesn't catch the turk flu :P
August 5, 200916 yr and here they just seem to be randomly handing out drugs to people who can answer the questions correctly. of 300 people who were tested in one area only 20 of them actually had swine flu. 2/30? That's a lot! :stunned: Lets hope she doesn't catch the turk flu :P :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3:
August 5, 200916 yr I have to say I'm slightly worried about moving to the UK with all this H1N1 going on...firstly because it's more rampant there than it is here, but secondly because I'm going to be in much more frequent contact with other people, using public transport all the time and living in hotels and dorms...I usually avoid most vaccines, but when/if there's one for H1N1, I'm almost definitely getting it.
August 5, 200916 yr You should worry more about other diseases. I mean, it's just a flu. If you go to the doctor on time, nothing will happen to you, you'll be in bed for a week or so, and then you'll be fine again ;) People that died here was mainly because they did not see a doctor or had other problems like diabetes mellitus etc
August 5, 200916 yr Lets hope she doesn't catch the turk flu :P Surely you mean turkey flu.............................
August 5, 200916 yr they put a sign up now at my doc's door in red letters that says sth like this: "if you reckon you got the swine flu you're not allowed to enter. ring the doorbell four times (??!!), wait outside and keep an adequate distance". :dozey: come on. i thought this was rather... dull. ringing the bell 4 times seems to be the new swine flu code
August 6, 200916 yr You should worry more about other diseases. I mean, it's just a flu. If you go to the doctor on time, nothing will happen to you, you'll be in bed for a week or so, and then you'll be fine again ;) People that died here was mainly because they did not see a doctor or had other problems like diabetes mellitus etc You're not allowed to see a doctor/ go to hospital in the UK. You're supposed to stay at home ask a friend or family member to get the drugs for you. I can see why they wouldn't want you to go there if you've got swine flue as it might put their patients at risk. It just doesn't seem right that GPs hand out drugs without seeing the people though. I also think that this could be quite dangerous because there will be elderly people who need treatment. What if they don't have family members or friends who live locally? Surely a Swine Flue hotline is not gonna help them...
August 6, 200916 yr 4 deaths here plus more than 1000 confirmed cases and government yet says there's nothing to worry about....
August 7, 200916 yr well more people die each day from the normal seasonal flu, so no nothing to worry about. You should be more scared of the seasonal flu that is going around its more likely to kill you.
