loveintechnicolor
*BUMP* :P I adore the Conditions album. I don't think every track is a masterpiece, but for a debut album I think it's pretty impressive. They got very positive reviews generally over here. It was actually a real grower for me - On the first listen I wasn't sure at all but after listening to it a few times I liked it more and more. I was a bit wary of the hype as after hearing the Sweet Disposition track on a advert I read someone comparing them to a hipper Coldplay on Amazon. I don't think they're quite that good or will ever make it to that scale but they've definitely got something! The lead guys voice is so hauntingly beautiful and atmospheric. They've been playing Fader over here a lot on the radio as their second single - awesome awesome tune. Fools is absolutely gorgeous... Solider on is probably my other favourite track off the album. :D I want to see these guys live so bad!! I had tickets to see them last Autumn but was unwell. Hoping to see them in London later this year.

I discover 'sweet disposition' a while ago thx to the movie '500 days of summer' and never bother to check them out since I found this thread... I was like 'oh I know this!' Anyway, I listened to their album and I like it!! I found out they were on a french musical show very renowned called 'Taratata'. They played 'sweet disposition' and a cover of 'dancing in the dark'. (click on 'videos', 2nd tag) http://www.mytaratata.com/Pages/ARTISTES_Fiche.aspx?ArtistId=1594 There is also pictures from their perfomance on the 'photos' tag. And here their little autograph, they worte 'thx a lot Nagui' (Nagui is the host of the show) enjoy!
deaths_friend
seeing the boys at BDO tomorrow. expecting big things from them. from reports ive heard that they do a very textbook performance, that sort of stuff doesnt go down well at BDO. im really hoping they go out of their comfort zone and be a little daring with their set and performance. deaths_friend
Hey Alex how fucking awesome is all this exposure and popularity temper trap are enjoying in the states. I was over happy with them making it in the UK, never thought they would make it big in the US so soon. Hope John butler, eddy current and the middle east can reach similar levels this year. tauiwi
Yeah its been ridiculously quick. But it's because they decided to go commercial and sell their songs to TV networks and other associated media. They've done it cleverly enough to give a massive audience 'tastes' of their music, while there is still this mystery around a brilliant album that becomes popular through the blogs of America. So happy for them. Since seeing them play live in Jan 2009 when they were still an 'underground' band they have grown exponentially. I guess we can only hope it has the flow on effect for other Aussie bands!
deaths_friend
Jan 09 feels like such a long time ago, to think that sweet disposition was no.101 in the 2008 hottest 100 and then went on to become as big of an international hit as walking on a dream by empire of the sun. grids
The Temper Trap are a great new band coming out of Melbourne, Australia. They are currently residing in the UK, and their sound as been compared to that of Coldplay and U2. The band finished recording their debut album with veteran music producer Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian) in March of 2009 in London, after 4 weeks recording the bulk of the album in Melbourne in late 2008. These are their releases, with their debut album due out June 19th in Australia. There is a lot of hype surrounding them, and they are being labelled the 'best thing to come out of Australia' in the past 10 years. 2006: The Temper Trap [Ep] 2008: Sweet Disposition [single] 2009: Science Of Fear [single] 2009: Conditions (Out June 19) Also, The BBC chose The Temper Trap on its top 15 Sound of 2009. Has anyone else heard them, and liked their music? Here are some links to hear their songs: http://www.last.fm/music/The+Temper+Trap http://www.thetempertrap.net/ http://www.myspace.com/thetempertrap fyi, the vocalist is from indonesia, which is from my country  they're doing nice job though, i like their music!
