One thing you don't like about Coldplay?

Featured Replies

They allow people to call them "pop".

I know they may not be "rock stars", but NSYNC, Jonas Brothers, Backstreet Boys, Hannah Montana, that's "pop". Coldplay is "very heavy soft rock" (as it says on their Mysapce). I wish they would insist they are "soft rock" and open that as its own genre for many similar bands. I'd rather be a fan of a soft rock group than a pop group

I agree. But I like calling them an 'alternative group'. Maybe Parachutes was soft rock, but everything else is definitely heavier than that.

Genres are pretty useless once you really get to know a band's music, anyway. I mean if they had a large enough proportion of songs like Green Eyes and Strawberry Swing, people might call them Alt-country! ;)

(if you're into that sort of thing, by the way, check out Sleepercar--they opened for CP in Kansas City and it was love at first listen).

Alternative/soft rock is what I'd call them

Plus, I wish soft rock were its own genre. Compared to AC/DC and Led Zeppelin I feel weird calling Snow Patrol or Coldplay or Radiohead or Keane "rock", but calling them "pop" just insults their music. That's why I wish "soft rock" were a more widely used term.

1. Someone said that they are too popular. Agree with that.

2. They always left Latin America at the end. When they have made almost more than 100 shows around the world.

3. Fix You. Hate that song.

THEY HAVENT RELEASED THE SONG LEFTRIGHTLEFTRIGHTLEFT!

Honestly...nothing. Normally there is always one thing I don't like about a particular musician(s) but with Coldplay that is not the case. If anything, I am not too crazy about some of the fangirl antics.

THEY HAVENT RELEASED THE SONG LEFTRIGHTLEFTRIGHTLEFT!

THEY HAVEN'T RELEASED THE SONG FAMOUS OLD PAINTERS

I may never forgive them for getting me so excited about a song they'll never show us.

What's with the "too popular" complaint? "Oh no! Other people like what I like! What a travesty!"

That the brilliant B sides don't have their own double, or triple CD.

1. the verses of fix you. the chorus is good though.

I don't really like the fact that Guy's bassline is not as wild as it was in the Parachutes.
