It's music is a mix of alternativ rock/pop/soul/WTF?! XD and the band has received a lot of praise in the music media. Their 'sound' is based on Florence amazing and powerful voice backed up with powerful drums and harp. Their debut album Lungs was released on July 2009 and held the number 2 position for its first five weeks in the charts, behind Michael Jackson. It was also nominated for a mercury prize. But one of their most distinctiv characteristic is Florence's presence on stage: very intense and oneiric. She seems to be everywhere at the moment and it's getting on me bloody nerves. She can't sing and she looks like a man.
