I bought it on a whim online since its not out physically in america yet. So far, I'm really liking it! I've listened to it a few times and its worth checking out.

I got the CD on a whim because at the time Tesco were offering 250 extra clubcard points, which after converted to clubcard deals are worth £10, which covers the cost of the CD. :D

I love the album, she has a very sweet voice :nice:

Should have won the Mercury Prize.

Florence+The Machine is the recording name of Florence Welch and a collaboration of other artists who provide backing music for her voice. It's music is a mix of alternativ rock/pop/soul/WTF?! XD and the band has received a lot of praise in the music media. Their 'sound' is based on Florence amazing and powerful voice backed up with powerful drums and harp.

Their debut album Lungs was released on July 2009 and held the number 2 position for its first five weeks in the charts, behind Michael Jackson. It was also nominated for a mercury prize.

 

But one of their most distinctiv characteristic is Florence's presence on stage: very intense and oneiric.

I'm sorry I just don't get what's so great about Florence and The Machine. She seems to be everywhere at the moment and it's getting on me bloody nerves.

 

She can't sing and she looks like a man. There I've said it.... :angry: And she's bloody wierd, but not in a good Bjork kind of way. She looks like a f*cking treehugger.

I just got this album for no reason.....haven't really listened to it yet.

But I loved what I heard so far.

I love Florence and the Machine.

They played a free gig in my city,

but you could only win tickets and be over eighteen.
