Noel Gallagher has donated a signed platinum disc to help raise funds for a new therapy pool at a Manchester school for disabled children.

 

The former Oasis guitarist has given the disc he received for selling 200,000 copies of Roll With It to Lancasterian School in West Didsbury.

 

The disc, which is expected to raise £3,000, is to be auctioned on Saturday at Dunham Massey, Altrincham.

 

Gallagher is a friend of one of the school's nursery staff.

 

The school is hoping to raise £120,000 for a new pool which can be used by all of its 96 pupils, many of whom suffer from cerebral palsy.

'Too valuable'

 

Gallagher signed the back of the disc with the words "God Bless - Noel".

 

Fundraiser Samantha Hough, 38, whose six-year-old son Beck attends the school, said: "I think Noel watches football with one of our nursery staff's partners, so he heard about the appeal through him.

 

"He gave it to us to auction at a gala dinner we held last year, but we realised it was far too valuable to sell that way and after taking advice we put it into a pop memorabilia auction.

 

"We were really pleased to get it because our target is huge. We had no idea that Noel knew anything about the school, so it really came out of nowhere.

 

"We have a pool at the moment, but it has high sides which means it's difficult to get some of the children in and out.

 

"The new hydrotherapy pool will enable us to lower severely disabled children into the water on a special bed.

 

"They get greater enjoyment from the water and it helps strengthen their muscles and gives them greater mobility. "

Ha! Fucking told ya all. You'll be lucky if he puts one out before 2013. People are having a go at Liam for carrying on without Noel saying that the older brother was the talent in the group but it was always apparent that in the later years he was holding the band back somewhat with his lazy "album every 3 years" attitude.

I am really looking forward to Beady Eye now and will probably enjoy Noels album if and when he finally gets round to it. I just think people should give Liam a chance instead of getting hung up about there being no Noel in the band anymore.

BIG and good news for fans of Noel Gallagher. What he has been telling the media that he hasn't been in the studio etc etc is all a load of complete bullshit. He has been in L.A lately recording as the band You Me At Six have been in the studio next door to him.

 

A reliable twitter source, @oasisnews, has stated that a Noel Gallagher single will be out in September with the album in October.
