Why Has Coldplay Become

Featured Replies

who cares about the another coldplay fans, the important thing is that you enjoy their music, it's not like those girls are in the same room as you when you listen to coldplay songs

now, talking about them in sexual ways in a public place such as an online forum, I think that's a different thing

Please don't insult Coldplay like a band who little teeny-bopper girls scream for them, that's the Jonas Brothers. Coldplay is serious stuff, and not cheap. :smug:

huh you compare yourself to Coldplay

huge difference here :P

cause you're not a singer, and specially not COLDPLAY:D

yeah but tall and handsome and can play the guitar drums and piano and im waaayyyyyy better looking than Coldplay!

Pics or it didn't happen.

Oh come on. What would a concert be if no one was screaming?

I'm a teen myself but I love Coldplay for their music, not for their looks.

The fact that they look good is just a bonus to me. :cheesy:

And they actually failed when they tried to make an album no one have to be bullied for (as Chris said).

I'm pretty much bullied because I like them, but I don't care.

And I think their lyrics have become better since the AROBTTH-era for example.

Just compare Green Eyes to Violet Hill and you'll know what I mean.

EDIT: People are fainting because they're actually seeing and hearing the four men they're listening to every day, performing live. That's a privilege, by far everyone have that chance.

A group for teenage girls to scream at? I remember way back at the beginning teenage girls would have gone nowhere near Coldplay because they were indie and quite dark and heavy. Now theyre almost like the new Backstreet Boys-what is going on? Im scared when i go to their upcoming concert im going to be surrounded by fainting girls!

Most people have already said what needed to be said, so I'll just add two things:

1. Sparks, Shiver, Trouble, Everything's Not Lost, and We Never Change are quite dark and heavy indeed.

2. Go kill yourself.

When I went to their concert, everyone I saw around me was older than me. And I'm 18.

I saw no fan girls.

Lol. The Degradation of Coldplay.

Wrong.

I think coldplaying is more for teenage girls than Coldplay themselves. No offense to all of you older people and any guys here, but honestly the main population of members on coldplaying are teen girls as far as I can tell.

But why does that even matter? All that really matters is if you like the music or not. People don't love bands based on their fan base.

agreed with Katie. I think it's very very possible ot be a so called "fangirl" and also have a deep understanding and appreciation of the music. Just because someone likes the way they look doesn't mean that they can't actually love the music.

No, it's not for teenage girls.

It's for Coldplay fans.

SOME of these teenage girls ruin shit by talking about crap and looks instead of the actual music and such.

When I went to my concert I was probably the youngest person in my section, and probably the next section over. I'm fifteen and the next youngest person I was was probably my cousin, who's almost 30.

I don't think Coldplay's become a band for teenage girls, it's just that VLVODAAHF is popular, so more people are bound to like it, therefore some of those people are teenage girls (including myself, though music always comes before other talk about the band :P)

Same here. It's not my fault I was too young to appreciate Coldplay back in the Parachutes era (their second best album). I love their older stuff and would never consider calling myself a fan of any band unless I knew more than just their most popular songs. And like SVA said, music talk always comes first.

I'm a fan of a band where a girl gave the lead singer a hamster - an actual, real, pet hamster - after a show because in their Live/Documentary DVD they made YEARS AGO, there's a scene in there where one of his friends gave him a hamster cage and he made a small, off hand, comment about him finally being able to get that hamster he wanted.

There's a lot of other worse stories out there for this band, but you know...

I think Coldplay fans are good. At least I can't point out any crazy fangirl stories for this band.

this.

i don't see why age matters. there are many people other than teenage girls screaming at their concerts. there's nothing wrong with enjoying yourself and letting the band know that you are. :nice:

I'm not sure if this is who you're talking about, but the band My Chemical Romance comes to mind for me, because Gerard got a hamster cage in their tour diary and said something about "for the hamster, that i'm gonna get".

Ignore this if it's worng though :P

Lol. The Degradation of Coldplay.

I know this is like the exact same thing, except without a well written opening post.

I love you Kiran.

HAHA. Yeah, you're right. I've been lucky to only meet really awesome fans at MCR shows (I don't have any friends off-line that actually like the band...), but I've heard so many crazy fan stories that make me realize how lucky I exactly am. And then now that they all have twitter accounts, the guys all get tons of messages that say stuff like, "I had a dream you fucked me last night" and linking to fanfiction of the band and, just...

Coldplay fans are kind of amazing.

If you're comparing Coldplay to My Chemical Romance, then I rest my case.

Yeah, MCR really are a good band, the fans are just...crazy at times. I see them more as a teen band, because I don't know of any older fans that like them alot. And the worst part is that they're all married (I think bob is  ). But it gets crazy at times.

I'd choose a Coldplay fan over an MCR fan anyday though :wacky:

Not their music, just trying to say that there are bands out there with a lot worse fans. Guess it was a bad comparisons, hehe.

Hehe. I know a whole ton of adult MCR fans. Last time I saw them, I went with a 23 year old, her friend, and her mom who are all fans. And I kind of spend a lot of my online time in MCR communities where a whole lot of the fans are adults ranging from early 20s to their mid-30s. But, yeah. I think of them as having more of a teen fan base than bands like Coldplay.

Haha. I know exactly who's married and not, but I think you can already tell how big of a MCR fan I am. I guess I'm a fangirl, but it's just I've been a fan for so long and so I just kind of know things after a long time - the same goes with me and Coldplay but I've talked to more MCR fans in my life than Coldplay.

I should have just have not mentioned MCR at all.

How sad, Coldplay started like a band compared to the Beatles, and now they're being compared to MCR.
