I remember way back at the beginning teenage girls would have gone nowhere near Coldplay because they were indie and quite dark and heavy.Now theyre almost like the new Backstreet Boys-what is going on? Im scared when i go to their upcoming concert im going to be surrounded by fainting girls!

Well, I'm a teenage girl myself and I was at their concert, but wasn't passing out or something. I screamed though, but everyone did, even guys.

It's not like they are a band for merely teenagers now, don't worry. And even grown up women scream at concerts, it's a female thing, I think. ;) But isn't that the case at almost every concert, screaming females?

They are very good looking guys, you know.

I don't think they're a group for teenage girls. At my concert there were people at all age, there was even a dancing granny next to me! :D

Yeah; it's generally a female thing.

 

I think the main thing is they've become more mainstream. Also, they've started wearing those military-style outfits...

Most girls just interpret their songs in a quite different way. Chris Martin himself says that he is sorry but their songs are not for heartbroken teenage girls who got cheated on. But anyways girls who scream :"MERRY ME GUY" are not the worst what might happen during a concert;)

They've always attracted more girls than guys. That's not a bad thing you know.

that must happen near the front row... :anxious: on the concert i attended i don't remember anybody screamed them stuff like what you say (i want a Chris baby) :uhoh:

well anyways chris said, he wanted to make themselves more known among the teen community now (remember he said: we want to get with this album that no teen is bullied for liking coldplay)...

I'm pretty sure there were a lot of crazy female fans around during the Parachutes/AROBTTH era as well.

there definitely were in the AROBTTH era, if you watch the Live 2003 tour diary.

Or that time when that girl sneeked into their tourbus... That was during the X&Y era I think, or perhaps before that...

I scream like a little girl at Coldplay concerts. And I'm a 20-year-old man, dammit.

 

Likewise, it's hard (and awkward) for me to speak for the female population, but the majority do not seem to scream for the same reasons as 90's boy bands. They seem much more appreciative of the music, even if they do sometimes yell "HAVE MY BABIES CHRIS!". Even the occasional girl wearing the "OMG GUY IS SEXY" shirt likely discovered the band through their music first, not their looks.

It's true: girls are not the only ones screaming. I went to a Coldplay concert and my bf and the guys around me screamed just as loud if not louder than I did. It's just a way to show the band that the crowd is having a good time.

We have great taste in music, and can't help but scream.

Plus, who wouldn't scream with four good looking and talented men in front of them :lol:

I'd hate to think what people thought of me at the concert then, im a teenage girl who went crazy for coldplay at their show.but i discovered coldplay back in parachute days when i was 10. so as long as they know all of their songs and love coldplay there is nothing wrong with coldplay having a lot of teen girls screaming/fainting for them.

Two girls fainted just beside me at my concert, I think that's one to much.

 

I have nothing against coldplayers who scream and yell at concerts, but i hate when girls say that they would like want to have sex with coldplay and stuff. Totally irellevant!
