No, it is related to pre-sales for gig in France, only the amex owners can pre-sale a tickets.

 

I think this shows how the group has changed ...

 

However it is true Viva era was much less affected :)

They certainly have some kind of deal with American express, but they haven't given up Fair Trade or any cause they support, they just don't talk about it so much now, they prefer the discrete way. And haven't you heard of the huge Oxfam campaign going on at their gigs ? Or, I don't know, Under1roof ????!!!

I think that's because of EMI (American Express is its official partner:thinking:). And the pre-sale thing annoyed me a bit too

^ Yeah, that surely doesn't depend on them personally, it's the label's fault...

And I also heard in many interviews that EMI is depending on them regarding income, so I don't think they would ever dare to disagree with them about this kind of measures... Even if they're quite discriminatory... They do feel the pressure, but can't do much.

In the end, I believe that what matters is what they behave like, and until now they're doing pretty good, if for example we think about the Oxfam campaign they've been holding...

I surely haven't enjoyed this American Express thing, because it didn't allow me to get a ticket to see them in Italy, and I have to go to Nice for that, as many of us Italians are going to do -only those who can afford it.
