UCLA was my dream school, too. I actually went to community college for three years and then transferred to UCLA. I never thought I would get in and went ape shit when I checked online and saw I got in. Apparently, there were like 60,000 applicants the year I applied, the most of any school in the nation. I live at home right now and my mom is still the boss of me haha, but it's great to have my own money!

Caroline,

yeah i wish i had control of my own money. to be honest, those front row tix were a gift from my aunt...but my mom has to pay for airfaire LOL! i saw them two more times, once on floor and crappy seats in irvine...but its all cool. i wanna meet chris one day...thats my dream. i wish i could get VIP tix or something

Yes, I wish I knew where he was staying in SF so I could go hang out at his hotel and "accidently" run into him.

Haha, I like that idea

I've decided I'm definitely going to this, even if I have to settle for GA lawn tickets. I'm currently trying to win tickets through an organization, but I doubt that'll happen, so I'll buy some when they go on sale! I just have to pick a day to go.

Another Bruin, but I graduated in 1988. I live in Orange County now, and I *don't* miss LA and avoid it as much as I can! lol

I want to go to this, and my best friend lives in Alameda, and flights from Orange County are cheap right now, only $49 on Southwest...Hmm...gotta convince my husband that I need to go. Might be hard though, since I flew to Tampa - and we all know what happened there.

Hmmm. Seem to be a lot of Californians here, so I'll ask for advice: I just got to LA about a month ago for college, seriously considering going up to SF to see Chris. Is it too long for a drive? I know traffic and freeways around here are generally hell...would it be easier to take a train or something like that? Anyway, thanks! :)

Tickets have gone on sale, anyone already bought some?

It's about a 5 to 6 hour drive, so it depends if you like long drives. :P I do it at least 5 times a year to visit my grandma in LA, and it goes by pretty quickly when there's no traffic. If you don't want to drive, you can fly, though... tickets are usually pretty cheap on Southwest this time of year, and the flight is less than an hour!

Haven't bought any yet, but I definitely want to before they're all sold out!

I was online to buy tickets this morning, but I keep going back and forth on going to the concert. I like the acts, but I'd want to go Saturday night, but my friend who lives in the Bay Area can't go Saturday. So I don't know. It was funny this morning though. Sec 100-103 seats (orchestra) are $150, and they kept popping up as available, but after I entered the security words, there would be no seats available. I kept refreshing and every once in a while, they'd show up. There are still seats available in the second tier for $75 and lots of lawn seats for $39. Flights from Orange County on Southwest to San Jose are only $49 each way, and to Oakland are $54 each way (my friend lives near Oakland).

But then I think, as much as I'd like to see Chris, do I really want to see him solo? I love the whole band and it would just be too weird to see Chris without the boys. What kind of setlist would he play? Coldplay songs or his own songs? Even though he's performing solo, would he have any back up accompaniment like other solo artists or would it be just him and his piano or guitar? I don't want to go to the show to try to compensate for an Coldplay concerts, if that makes sense...

What to do what to do...but that being said, I do really like Sheryl Crow and No Doubt and we just saw Jimmy Buffet a couple of months ago...

I drove up the the Bay Area nearly every weekend for a school year and a half. ..I was in college at UCLA and my then-boyfriend-now-husband was working in San Francisco. It was a 5 1/2 - 6 hour easy, yet boring, drive, just pretty much straight up I-5. Or you could fly pretty inexpensively, from Orange County to San Jose, it's only $49 each way, but then you'd need a car once you're there. I'm sure the price is the same from LAX or Burbank.

i'm just wondering how many songs he'll play. i would hate to go and he only plays two songs or something.

He's supposed to do a 40 minute set.

really?? but there are so many other artists that are playing. how long will the whole show be??

Dianne, I bought tickets to this....not even sure if we are going but I figured we'd sell them if not. Just have to sort it out. Our really good friends live in El Cerrito which doesn't look too far away on the map.

I bought my solo ticket for Sunday afternoon. I will be flying into San Jose, as I suppose that's the closest airport. I have a seat in Row U of 101, but am thinking about upgrading as I saw a 3rd row ticket on stubhub.

Anyone else planning on going on this date? I missed Wembley and this is my compensation, though I hate I'm going alone.

If we end up going we'll be close! We're row R in 101. My compensation for Wembley as well...(and Tampa too)

I REALLY want to go!

even though it will make me sad to be in the same place where I attended my first Coldplay concert back in July =(
