It is about Michael Jackson fans, who hate Coldplays verson of his song "Billie Jean".

almost every fan of an artist or band hates any cover done, it just their natural instinct. Like I hate that stupid Punk Goes Crunk crap, and the fact that Panic at the Disco covered Radiohead...but yeah, i guess it is somewhat stupid, especially since it is meant to be somewhat of a tribute to MJ.

I am surprised. I mean, they don't have to like it, but they could admit the performance got quality? I mean, you can make a good cover or a bad cover...

It's a shame they can't just see it as the lovely tribute that it, is regardless of whether you like their style or not. It's not like they are trying to do it better than Michael Jackson - it's just a nice gesture to someone they admired. It's not a big deal so I don't see why people get their knickers in a twist about it :confused:

The cover version is not something like "Hey! We can make this song better than Michael Jackson!", but it's made because of respect to M.J.!

But don't think I am comparing Coldplay to JB BY ALL MEANS, they suck bigtime. But if someone made a cover of the band you like, they get defensive.

When you come to think of it, a cover is a way of showing respect.

Well most here hate it when someone covers a Coldplay song, who cares?? Coldplay showed a nice bit of respect for the Man, but face it, most non Coldplay fans would find it ridiculous:D I found it to be pretty good myself.

Obviously Coldplay's version was great.

But I think any fan would feel the same way, if it was THEIR band being covered.
