Me too, last season finale was so good. I was in the edge of my seat the whole time. Very intense.

Nobody knows what will happens after the bomb exploded. Will they go back on time?

I guess so. I haven't been on here in ages and didn't see a Lost thread so, *shrugs* started another.

 

It's eerie but Toronto right now reminds me of the Lost universe, what with people getting mysterious viruses, and pregnant ladies needing a special vaccine for H1N1. And then the whole scandal about what's in the vaccine being poisonous. haha Just random observation.

 

No smoke monster though, thank God.....That only comes out in the summer.

I think from what I'm hearing about next season that they're going to be dealing with some sort of split reality/dual timeline/pocket dimension type thing. So yeah, alternate universe basically.

 

I'm still going with the Chemmis theory myself- it makes about as much sense as any alternate reality. Once you get the gods involved anything is possible... But then there's always going to be another twist to explain away them too, isn't there?

Wow, I had genuinely never heard of Chemmis, that's amazing. I think it's probably just a reference to all the Egyptian mythology on the island, rather than it completely following the story of Chemmis.

 

This might be spoilers, but they revealed the names of the first episodes which kinda hint that it's an alternate universe:

I don't even wanna say what I think is really going on because I get embarrassed when I'm wrong, but I can say that i CAN'T wait until January.

 

Well from what I can figure out about the egyptian gods from wikipedia if the smoke monster/guy in black/fake locke is (or is connected to) Anubis, Jacob is (or is connected to) Sobek/Amun and everything is the result of some sort of contest between them, it really does explain everything from the visions in the smoke (weighing hearts) to the women dying (out of favour with Jacob/Sobek- fertility problems)

 

All I really know is that when I heard about the Chemmis connection it was the first time the writer's part of my brain started working things out instead of just the reasoning part.

 

What if the island is weird because it moves- like on a turtle? Hey I heard about an Egyptian island that floats and could go out to sea. What if it floated through the Indian Ocean and into the Pacific? Yeah, what if it kept drawing things into it. That would explain how the Dharma people got there. It would give us a lot to go on- they would have conflicts with all the different generations of people and things that made it to the island.

 

I guess we'll just have to wait to find out.

 

 

As for the titles, yeah that pretty much lines up with what I've heard as established spoilers for next season.

Charlie is back for sure, and I think I heard Boone is. They all land in the airport like nothing happened on the original flight. But then they continue to exist on the island too as if the bomb didn't work. Thus dual reality.

 

Sort of like the last Star Trek movie. And hey, that was a J.J. Abrams movie, wasn't it... :sneaky:

Yeah I can't make my mind up if the MiB is the smoke monster or if it is just his helper. When you look in the temple you see Anubis and then you see him summoning the smoke monster, as if it were his helper or something, but then there are situations where it would completely make sense that he is also the smoke monster. I'm sure we'll find out anyway.

 

Also with reference to different cultures being there, one of the flashes took them to a time WAY into the past where they were attacked by natives with flaming bow and arrows, this is a time that hasn't been touched on since, I think we are supposed to believe that a few different cultures have used the island and who knows how long the "others" were actually there, different generations of them.

 

I still think it's just more of a reference to Chemmis, than it actually being Chemmis, just like I don't think MiB is actually Anubis etc.

 

JJ doesn't write though, he's pretty much had no involvement since early season 1. Damon Lindelof writes and he also did Star Trek ;)

Okay so I did some research, (went on YouTube and qikipedia) haha, and apparently the smoke monster is what those of the Dharma Intiative refer to as the Cerberus, right?

 

The Cerberus was the three-headed dog that guards Hades, or the underworld (not too sure on this one) in Greek Mythology (again, not sure about this one), right?

 

So if we proceed on the notion of the smoke monster being the Cerberus, then yea, I could definitely see it as being just a guard for something much bigger.

 

And yea, going with this underworld thing...Maybe this alternate universe is that world?

Cerberus is based on the assumption that he is the defender of the island, but quite clearly smokey is not on Jacob's side and it is Jacob's island so he wouldn't be doing much defending then...

 

I much prefer the idea that it is Anubis' "pet" where he can just use him to do his deeds, the MiB being Anubis in the metaphor. But what gets me is that Ben summoned smokey at one point, what was all that about?

 

 

I am about to start season 5 on the rewatch, so fucking excited, this was the best season of the show imo.

Heh, yeah. SPOILER ALERT! ;):laugh3: This is the reason we have traditionally been using separate Lost threads for each season. The series airs at such different times worldwide and then there are all the people catching up too.

 

I never had a problem with Michael showing up, but then when you see the whole backstory it makes a lot of sense.

Two-Minute Promo of 'Lost' Season 6

 

 

The fans' enthusiasm for the show starting from the first season to the fifth is included in the bootleg version of the new promo.

 

There is a new promotion of "Lost" season 6 that ABC made two minutes long. Still in the form of bootleg, the footage offers no glimpse of the new season but recap of what happened in the fifth season and after that. Creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse talking about the new season and the cast attending San Diego Comic Con this year are also inclusive.

 

It was recently announced that the final season will begin airing on February 2 at 9/8c with a recap special that airs an hour prior. The sci-fi series will take regular timeslot on Tuesday nights the following week on February 9. Words are, it will be paired with the first season of "V" at 10/9c.

 

Some of the regular cast such as Jorge Garcia, Terry O'Quinn and Evangeline Lilly have been confirmed to return. Even Rebecca Mader who portrays the dead Charlotte Lewis will be back although 'how' is still a mystery.

 

 

However, it looks like Elizabeth Mitchell's Juliet will not survive the bomb at the season 5 finale because the actress has admitted that she cried hard upon learning that her character is not brought back.

 

 

Those in need to catch up before the final season runs, may purchase the fifth season DVDs starting December 8.
