X Factor: Dannii Minogue wants Stacey Solomon to duet with Coldplay’s Chris Martin in the final

Featured Replies

When is the X Factor final? Next week?

God I hope this isn't true.

If we're lucky, maybe she won't make the final, and then we'll be spared the humiliating ordeal.:P

Oh God.

Anyone else agree that Stacey didn't do that well with The Scientist? I mean, when I watched it i didn't really know whast to make of it. I don't know if that's just because I find her very annoying, but I dunno..

& now I have this vision of the two of them singing Fix You in the final with the big fancy lights and sparkles falling down and all the x factory things :stunned:

Don't do it, Chris..

I totally feel the same way. I mean, I have nothing against Stacey, to me she comes across as a very sweet, down to earth person with not a bad word to say about anybody... yeah she may talk very fast and she can be a bit annoying but I can't dislike her really. I think she does have a voice on her, she can sing softer quieter songs very beautifully but only some songs suite her voice whereas others have made me think she can't sing that well and then I find myself not liking her voice so much because I don't think it's anywhere near Leona Lewis standards. I thought her performance of the Scientist was just "alright" tbh... it wasn't very good. Partly, I think, cause I'm only used to hearing Chris sing it and also cause it has some very high notes that can sound awful when other people sing it depending on their range and stuff.

I really didn't like the idea when the first rumour came out about the guys performing on X Factor... especially if Chris was to just come on stage himself to duet with one of the contestants. I know it's kinda useless to be snobby about the whole talent show stuff, and Chris obviously has quite a positive opinion on X Factor at least what with him mentioning it at the UK gigs they did on the Viva Tour and having Simon Cowell appear at the Jay-Z gigs (I remember at Birmingham last Dec he asked the crowd what they thought of it and called us the "c" word when alot of people booed :shocked2: Only in joking Chris stlye lol ).

But I can't help feeling that if CP do go on the show, it only cheapens them, you know? :\ Because at the end of the day, X Factor is pop culture instant stardom at it's worst. It is not full of talent, whatever Simon or stupid Loui Walsh say. It's like a parody most of the time. :dozey: And I'm imagining Chris singing with Stacey and it being really I dunno, X-Factor melodramatic... with stupid fireworks and confetti and stuff. And then the British critics being all snarky and rude about Chris. AAAAAH. Please, Chris, say no! The only big rock band that have been on X Factor before is Bon Jovi... the rest of the time it's dominated by the likes of West Life and Boy zone. I can't imagine any other big British band going on it... like Keane. Because X Factor and proper, talented, established bands don't go together. Only if you want to make yourselves look.. I dunno, mainstream. In a, well, bad way. Oh Chris... why must you be so in love with the Simon Cowell empire?? *shakes head* I guess, the only positive is, Stacey Solomon will be happy for the rest of her life. I hope she is, because I'd cut my arm off to be her right now!

I agree with everything you've said, especially the part I've highlighted. Great post!:D

*takes a bow* Thanks! :D

I just don't want X-Factor style Coldplay Karaoke. Just, no. Oh dear, I'm really worried Chris is gonna do it now. I guess, as real Coldplay fans, we shouldn't be worried about their "image". Or what people from the outside may think. Because it doesn't change them as a band. They have real talent and are one of the best, most sucsessful British bands. But that's precisely why I don't want them to do it... Is it sad that I think they're too "good" for talent show guest performances?

Not at all. I feel exactly the same way.

I was thinking there,

I you watch the Xfaxtor, Just think back through the performances of the actually singers.

They seemed to be what they wanted. Whitney houstan came on with her sparkly dress and money while Bon jovi has just the stage and the instruments. The artist them selfs seem to have a say in how they perform.

Now i'm hoping that if he does agree,

That the choreographer and set designers, stacey and chris can come to a decesion,

where the stage can represent both chris and stacey.

Maybe it might be like the performance

snow patrol and cheryl cole did together,

i prefered the orginal female singer,

but it was good.

Whitney's entire career has been about "showbiz", while Bon Jovi are very MOR.

However, there's still a big difference between performing on the show, as they did, and performing with one of the karaoke contestants.;)

Paul McCartney and George Michael have reportedly agreed to performing in the final and Simon Cowell still wants Chris Martin!

Coldplay's Chris Martin to appear on 'The X Factor'?

I'm not used to post news so if it was already posted, let me now :)

Singer reportedly in talks to appear on live final with Paul McCartney and George Michael

Coldplay's Chris Martin is reportedly being lined up to appear on next week's live final of the 'The X Factor'.

The singer is apparently in talks to appear on the show on December 13 alongside Paul McCartney and George Michael, who are thought to be teaming up for a duet.

A source told the Daily Mirror: "Everyone knows Simon (Cowell) is ultra-competitive and he has always said he will only carry on with 'The X Factor' if he can improve on it year-on-year.

"After last year's duets with Beyonce, Boyzone and Westlife he knew he had to pull out all the stops to make this year's even better."

As previously reported on NME.COM, McCartney was apparently keen to appear on the show according to unconfirmed reports. He is yet to confirm his appearance on the live final.
