i'd be interested to see if Taylor Swift wins album of the year with Kanye make another appearance since she's up against Beyonce. I hope that U2 and MGMT win of those listed... i would like to see the alternative album list

I didn't like No Line On The Horizon

Kings of Leon have 4 nominations... Nathan F. is getting drunk, fuck yes!

Look I'm a mega U2 fan, but I don't think it is Grammy worthy at all.

I am kind of surprised at a few things:

 

1. U2's NLOTH didn't get nominated for album of the year, and

2. Dave Matthews Band got nominated for a couple of ALBUM categories, including album of the year.

 

For the record, I don't think U2's album deserves album of the year, I am just surprised by the fact that the Grammies snubbed them. Grammies usually are U2 puppets.

 

Glad for DMB. Rarely does he (and his band) receive any critical claim.

 

And I don't know what to make of Taylor Swift. I have no problems with her, but is this really the best we have to offer in music for 2009? I mean, she is tone deaf in every live performance I have ever seen.

Anyone else find this list incredibly disappointing? And well, suckish, awful, bad. :sick:

its funny how in movie industry the awards for best movie, ie the Oscars gets the more attention than the awards for the worst movies ie. Razzies. but in the music industry its the award night for the worst music of the year ie, the Grammys thats gets the greatest attention. weird?

yea is this a joke? these are some of the worst nominees i can ever remember the grammys having. usually theres at least 1 or 2 good albums in album of the year but these are just all awful. black eyed peas?? are you even fucking serious? unless they get some insanely good performers there's no chance i watch the grammys this year.. all i can say is go phoenix for best alternative album.

Let's face it, the Grammys are just another example of mutual "backslapping" among the music industry "powers". They have nothing to do with "merit" whatsoever.:dozey:

NLOTH is for me the most intimate most clever album since Zooropa. It obviously deserves more Grammy nominations.

bono has been having trouble getting it up lately. the grammys arent impressed. they've replaced him with lady gaga who does a much better job and can at least keep it up.

i do agree that these grammys aren't very exciting/impressive.

 

i mean i'd like to see mgmt win, but that's about it.

This list is really boring compared to last year. It would have been nice to see Phoenix in the Album of the Year category, they really deserve it. :sad:
