A pop star?!?

What a ghastly thought!

It is, because "pop" stars are generally cheesy.;)

Give me cheesey over pretentious any day!

Well Chris is neither of those, and I'd rather he stayed that way.;)

Very true. He's a serious musician who doesn't need to be associated with such a tacky show as X Factor. If he goes down that road, he really will be forever regarded as a "pop" star.:dozey:

Exactly....Chris works hard...he went long way to be there, where he´s nowdays... it isn´t any "superstar" who has have all since the start prepared and lined....

FOR FUCKS SAKE CHRIS DON'T DO IT!

I would like to see that. Stacey actually did a more than decent job on The Scientist.

Does Stacey really deseve to win and have the opportunity to sing with Chris??

She's a good singer, but she's nothing special  ....

I've never watched the show, so I guess I shouldn't take any sides here.

I got the joke!

I can just see him walking through those big doors on the stage... drifting through a cloud of dry ice :laugh3:

Hahahaha....!!

She seems like a lovely girl with a slightly above average voice. She specialises in ballads and did a not completely awful version of The Scientist.

She's popular because she's completely down to earth and just seems to be in total shock that she's got this far. She laughs a lot and they play up the fact that she's a single Mum.

I'm sure you'll have had your own version on Idol... infact I guess she's a kind of Kelly Pickler type

Exactly - nothing special, like the vast majority of the contestants every year.

What gets me is there are so many zombies out there who don't appear to realise that.:dozey:

So in what way does that qualify her to win a singing competition and get a "million-pound" recording contract?

Yes, she was a total airhead with an annoying way of speaking too.:dozey:

Well, still it's a better idea than the one about Miley Cyrus doing tour with Coldplay. Which doesn't mean I'm keen on it :dozey:

But UK´s fans of X-factor can be happy that they have at least this singer...yes, she´s nothing special, but I think she sings really good... because we have at this moment something like "Czech and Slovakia idol" and there´s really nothing special, but any great singers too... maybe with one rarity.... :P

Chris wanted her for concert in Prague too, isn´t it? Fortunately, it was unsuccessful :dozey:

:shocked2: Did he?! God, I would never forgive him.

Yeah, he did :D It was certainly in something like blesk or aha  :D but finally played Albert Hammond JR. before... such a luck! :P

Even the winners of any of these competitions (with the possible exception of American Idol) rarely set the world of music alight, and most of them sink without trace after the initial hype has worn off.

In the UK, the only ones that have really managed to establish themselves are Will Young (the first-ever winner), Leona Lewis, who has managed to crack the U.S., and Girls Aloud (:dozey:).

Michelle Fatmanus, Steve Brookstein, Shayne Ward and Leon (who?) have all fallen by the wayside, and it remains to be seen whether last year's winner, Alexandra Burke (who's also unexceptional), will have any longevity.;)

Of the American winners, only the first winner, Kelly Clarkson (who's actually pretty talented) has achieved global success.;)

But don't forget there was Girls Aloud at Wembley, which wasn't any better.:dozey:

oh, Girls Aloud...:wtf: I have never understood, why Coldplay took something like this :o ....I didn´t know them before, but I was really suprised, when I found that they have Brit Award :P

I don´t like competitons like X-factor, Pop Idol....I think, if someone want to be a famous artist, he/she has to work hard and show that the success is deserved...

to be talented isn´t all....

I thougt that only in Czech Republic aren´t those "superstars" successful, but I see it´s everywhere...

I understand what you say, you should watch the italian X factor....:shocked2: or "Amici" (the italian version of Fame)...all the singers are awful....:inquisitive:

The fact is that I hate when in a Tv show, just because the other singers are not so good...the only one who is able to do something, must be treat like an Idol.....

I wouldn't be happy to be considered a great singer just because the other ones are crap, with the risk to become a common singer as soon as I'm compared to a better one.....from riches to rags :veryangry2:
