but, what if from all coldplayers we reach $500, you but something, how are you going to ditriute that between all the cpers who put the money? specially because it will be fans from ALL over the world, for example i'm from argentina,

Well the idea was that there would be 1 person picked randomly or through contest or something. So everyone will have a fair chance

but still my doubt is, you buy.. i don't know, one of their platinum album with all that money from cpers, who is going to keep the platinum album?

And if we don't win any of the auctions, I think we should give the money to charity. Then this would be a win-or-win situation for all of us. :D

I find it so exciting with this auction. But how to make sure that the items would end up in the hands of real Coldplay fans. I have been thinking around these lines:

 

The only way for us coldplayers to get hold of these items would be to pay some money into a central fund to be administered by IAN and Jenjie - and then hopefully there would end up being money enough to make a final, successful bid for for instance a guitar and the Strawberry Swing jacket and some posters.

 

Then there should be some competitions in which those paying in amounts to that fund (foundation) could participate, and the winners of the competitions would win these items.

 

In this way, at least the goal of ensuring that some of these items would end up in the hands of coldplayers should be achievable.

 

Just a thought.

- To contribute, you would purchase tickets at a set price (for example $5 or the equivalent in your respective currency). You could purchase as many tickets as you want for that price.

- so, those who contribute more would have more tickets in the drawing, and would thus have a better chance at winning.

 

Still doesn't solve the problem of who would handle all the money and the drawing, etc., but something like that might work.

Ofcourse there are real coldplay fans that aren't on this website, but at least we know the people on here are real fans. For people that aren't on the website we can't really do much and there will also be non Coldplay fans wanting to buy that stuff. So this way we know for sure it will go to Coldplay fans ^^

This is my thought exactly. I think it should just be one ticket/entry per person. That way everyone has the same chance.

And if we go with more than one per person, I'd like to see a max number too.

This is a good idea, but like someone said, the drawing should be done with someone not participating.

Trying to buy more than one item sounds good to me. I totally want a guitar or the globe, but I would be just as happy with a signed poster :)

 

And about the money: 10 euros/dollars/pounds is good for me.

I don't think we should be going lower than 5 though, I'm afraid we won't have enough with that.

No, I don't think anyone who's buying more tickets should have a better chance at winning! That's very unfair. It would destroy the entire idea. This idea was, in the beginning, all about that people with less money should have a chance to win!
