Coldplay End Of The Decade Sale - Lottery (NOW OPEN FOR ENTRIES)

Good Idea

Of course, what would have been better is, if Coldplay said "Only those registered on Coldplaying.com as of the day before our announcement are eligible to bid on the items". At least that way, they'd guarantee they all go to the fans!

Eh, I can dream....

^but not all Coldplay fans are on here. :\

as for what to do with the money if we don't win, we could give it to the Kids Company charity. :cheesy:

just a suggestion. :nice:

Or we could use it organise a huge Coldplaying party. :)

Or as TONSU suggested: If our bid should fail, then the money could be refunded OR go to charity ( and I second: for example Unicef or Red Cross or the one COLDPLAY is supporting via their auction ). So that would also be in Coldplay's spirit.

Oh yes, I´m on board!!!:dance::dance::dance:

I was thinking that, too. Coldplay would want us to use it for good :D

My one problem: I don't think my dad will let me use his credit card for a paypal thing. Would it be at all possible for me to mail my $2 :embarassed::shame:

Honestly I don't think so, that would make this project harder than it should be.

This.

It's an interesting idea if it could be worked out somehow...

But yeah, if we didn't win anything then what would happen to the money cos it wouldn't be that easy to give it back.

Maybe if we didn't win anything then we could still draw it like a lottery and the winner would win the cash instead...just a suggestion.

Or that.

Honestly I don't think so, that would make this project really hard...

Okay no problem. Actually I guess I could mail my money to someone who is doing it online, and they could pay $4 and take my $2? I live around a few Coldplayers so it could work

Sure that could probably work :nice:

The only thing is that I really don't want to take the responsible for the money and stuff, it should really be someone we trust. The ultimate would be to have Ian doing this and making it a little more "official".

^ True. Handling money stuff on the internet could be nerveracking if you've never done it before! My dad hates paying for things on the internet (even Itunes or Amazon ) because he doesn't trust it. A few more months until I'm 18 and can get my own card!

EXACTLY!! That way we have free roam of all the goodies for being here! :wink3::lol:

:P

that wouldn't be anywhere near fair, though, seeing as this is just a fansite and not an official message board. :P

although, it's also not fair that some people might get something that should really go to a bigger fan just because they have more money.

Agreed. Investors will be buying the super expensive stuff like the jackets and guitars, then selling them for double the price two seconds later. Not fair at all. :dozey:

well, at least the money's going to charity.

otherwise, they could totally have created some sort of Coldplay test where you have to prove your worthiness as a fan in order to win something. :cheesy:

for example, i can rattle off the tracklisting of their LPs and Prospekt's March. :smug: (i haven't memorised the live cds, though :P)

aaaa this is a brilliant idea!!:D but yh, some ppl non-coldplayers might buy very expensive stuff just to sell them for the double or more and that isnt fair!! :bigcry:

you know i always thought that should be done when buying concert tix cuz i was so mad(jelous) that others were closer than me and many of them didnt know all the words to all the songs! losers!

sorry....

anyways,

i can barely remember the order of AROBTTH but the rest i have no clue since i always have my ipod on shuffle. i should study my tracklistings before this quiz:D

That's why I dreamt up the above scenario, lol... If you registered on Coldplaying.com as a user BEFORE the announcement was made, then you can bid. That would stop outsiders from getting in on the game at the last minute and registering once the ad was posted just to bid!

Oh well, we can dream!

yea that would be great...

still wish they could do that for concerts

I don't think I will have the time to organise much of this as you would hope me to, but I certainly give my backing! I can promote is during the usual news/twitter/facebook updates as I have done here http://www.coldplaying.com/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=6866

I said to Nancy via PM that someone else should be able to deal with the auctioning and lottery side of things and be able to look after the money, I guess it'll be upto everyone to decide who that should be! :)

Ooooh I like this idea. Just when I thought it would be impossible for poor ol' me to get something so priceless!

I support this idea! :D

I like the idea too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)

I really like this idea too! I'm so excited about this whole sale thing. I really want to get something! I hope I can with 300 pounds. :wreck:

Let's hope there excist some really rich Colplay fans^^
