I remember that back in 2002, at school we were listening to songs in english to improve our listening skills; I suggested my teacher to use "the scientist", but only one or two of my class mates liked it, and teased me because that music was "depressing", in their words...I didn't care, and I'm still here, sticking to Coldplay, and the scientist is still one of my fave songs.

So, I'm really happy I love Coldplay, and I don't care if people tell me I have bad taste in music, or bash them- I have a friend who's a huge fan of Satriani and thinks Coldplay is terrible and constantly repeat that just to tease me...nevermind.

Definitely. Even though barely anyone know enjoys them, they are an amazing band.

Too bad I didn't like before Viva la Vida...

I don't like Coldplay...

I hate coldplay!!!!

sorry about that :disappointed:

I just dislike them at the moment

Then why are you on COLDPLAYing?

...but only one or two of my class mates liked it, and teased me because that music was "depressing", in their words...

See, I've never quite understood that argument. I can see how sometimes the music itself is a little depressing sounding (although I always prefer to think of it as really beautiful...), but the lyrics themselves are often uplifting and positive...i've always found coldplay to be very uplifting and, many times, the only thing that helps me out if i'm feeling like crap lol....

No I'm not.

I'll be happy if I can fuck them.

Haha.

Then why are you on COLDPLAYing?

Why wouldn't he? he's not trolling around and there's no rule such as "to be a coldplaying member you have to droll at one of the band members or all of the if you feel like it, and also you MUST think coldplay is the best band ever" that I've heard/read of.

You're right. I'm just so tired of people saying they hate coldplay.. They are everywhere :dead:

That's part of the "taking all the shit for being a coldplay fan".

I DEFINITELY LOVE COLDPLAY

IM DEFINITELY HAPPY WITH THEM AND THEIR MUSIC

AND I DONT REGRET FOR IT

chris put it best "thanks for taking all the shit for being a coldplay fan"

i know i have put up with a lot of shit for being a coldplay fan. but i don't regret anything at all. the only regret would be not getting into them years and years back.

I feel the exact same way that you do:)

My life is better with Coldplay.

after seeing them live...I'm not ashamed of being a fan.

You're right. I'm just so tired of people saying they hate coldplay.. They are everywhere :dead:

I used to love them

Life wouldn't be the same without Coldplay - I can't imagine them not existing, in fact. Haha, I know that's a strong statement, but what I mean is without them in the musical world I don't quite know who would replace them for me. There would be a MASSIVE hole. I am a fan of other muscians, I love several other British bands - Keane and Snow Patrol particularly. But neither of them compare to Coldplay for me, no one does. Not musically or as a group of people - CP have such an endearing friendship within the band and they're genuinely nice guys. I just love all of them. Also, there's no other frontman like Chris Martin. He's the funniest, quirkiest, most flexible and energetic one out there imo. :D

I'm proud to be one of the CP fans, rather than one of the haters. In my opinion they're just missing out, even if they can't see it that way. :P They're a band British people should feel proud of - they're super talented, have conquered the world with their music and they came from here! I think it's sad the amount of negativity they still receive. I'm sick of Coldplay hate, it's getting old.

The only proper regret I have is not getting into them earlier on at the start or seeing them live in the AROBTTH or X&Y era - I was 10 when Parachutes came out and I didn't start listening to them properly until I was 14. I don't think I'll ever love another band as much as CP. They've given me so much enjoyment.

It's funny. I don't really need to take a lot of shit for being a Coldplay fan.

People kind've get freaked out when I start jumping up and down and smiling and begin talking really fast about how amazing they are. :P

But no one really gets on my back.

Maybe that's why I didn't understand this thread when I first saw it. :D

I used to love them

this may be a stupid question since we are on a coldplay fan forum:P. but are you happy that you started liking coldplay? do you ever feel like you regret getting so into them?

i know i have put up with a lot of shit for being a coldplay fan. but i don't regret anything at all. the only regret would be not getting into them years and years back.

I don't regret anything related to being a Coldplayfan... I am happy to be a Coldplayfan... Through Coldplay's music, then I have travelled to London for the first time and probably wouldn't have gone their in another way... From time to time I discover great songs from them that I wouldn't have heard if not being a fan.. and I discovered http://www.coldplaying.com by being a fan of them

- So I like and love being a fan of them

I have to put up with some shit though too, because my local friends and family don't get how amazing they are.. They just like some of their songs or think they know who they are, but can't get why I am so into their music.. Sometimes when I am home and on the web, then I have to say like yeah I am just going to check out my email or it is something school related so they don't think I'm a freak... but then I really check out http://www.coldplaying.com and http://www.coldplay.com ;):laugh3: :\

Oh, but it is all worth it.. I'm glad I'm a fan of them :D

Coldplay has helped me through some of the worst times in my life. From problems with family and friends, to just about everything. They're the biggest relief i have in my life. I'm angry or frustrated? just one verse from Swallowed in the Sea makes everything better. they have changed my life tremendously since i've became a fan and started listening to their music and that, I will never regret.

but as well as everyone else, i wish i had have listened to them much earlier, but im so glad that this wonderful music is in my life today.

so yes, I LOVE COLDPLAY

and ps. my coldplay shirt is my love, hehe.

I'm glad to be a Coldplay fan :)

their music makes me feel good no matter what mood I'm in

See, I've never quite understood that argument. I can see how sometimes the music itself is a little depressing sounding (although I always prefer to think of it as really beautiful...), but the lyrics themselves are often uplifting and positive...i've always found coldplay to be very uplifting and, many times, the only thing that helps me out if i'm feeling like crap lol....

I don't think it's depressing, either...sometimes it's sad, but life is like this, too, isn't it? there can't be always happy and cheerful songs....Coldplay represent a whole world of emotions, including negative ones, in my opinion.

I don't regret being a fan of them at all. Coldplay's music has gotten me through a lot of shit times so I'm proud to stand up and say "Yes, I love them" and so what to the consequences. I know a lot of people at my college don't understand it, and don't like them, but I don't get shit for it like I used to at school. There has never been a moment where I've regretting being a fan though. My only regret is not seeing them live sooner, even though I liked them during the whole X&Y and AROBTTH eras, I never got tickets to see them, and that's a big regret. I'm just so glad I saw the VLV tour. :D

In my case it's really strange because I nearly used to hate CP when I was younger. OK the expression hate is maybe a bit too strong but I really did not like them when I was in my teen years.

I've been always very interested in music, listening to a lot of genres mostly Pop, Rock and RnB but with Coldplay I could not do anything for years. Paradoxically I've still noticed them from time to time.

I've known them since they brought out Trouble but it was just boring music to me. Later even Clocks could not appeal to me and from X&Y I only knew Fix you and Speed of sound - I did not like anything of them. Indeed there were moments in those years when I slightly began to admire them. I liked the piano parts from the songs I've known of them and Chris' appearance on stage. I remember reading an article about Chris' being awarded for his piano play ( off topic: does anyone when that was and which Award it was????) and I said to myself - well maybe he really deserves it. Though I did not like Chris as a person too, I did not like his jokes and his behaviour (so stupid of me I know :D) - it was just a kind of an appreciation for his talent that I obviously regconized back then. The other band members I've never noticed anyway.

So years went by and even when they brought Viva la vida in 2008 I did not care much - though I've noticed that they have uploaded Violet hill as a free download on their website. I was like "oh what a nice touch of them" but that was it. Then in July 2008 finally the moment came: I started liking Coldplay, just because I've listened to Trouble in a movie and I have fallen so deeply in love with this song because it fitted into my current situation at the moment. Then I've bought Parachutes and I slowly noticed what a gorgeous band they are - so I call myself a fan since August 2008 and I never had any regrets with it since then. Coldplay just changed my life and also my taste of music, I began to like some songs of Snow Patrol or Indie Bands. Now I'm listening to a lot of other stuff then a few years ago. And CP also is responsible for the fact that I've found my second favourite band - the Howling Bells. I would have never know about them if I was not at the Coldplay concert last year.

So I'm very happy that I love Coldplay - I'm also lucky to have found this forum with all that nice Coldplayers in here. I've never made any bad experiences being a fan of them though most of the people in my environment do not like them. I always use to say: They still did not managed to get any access to the lovely Coldplay music - just like me some time ago.

I only regret that I did not begin to like them earlier - I had chances enough.
