I'd like to participate, but it looks as if I missed the deadline and don't have the tech know-how anyway.

 

I do not know how to make a mixtape for electronic distribution, though I used to make them with real cassettes. I have Audacity to record songs together, but I've never uploaded anything to Rapidshare or any other file server, nor have I ever made a RAR file, don't know how.

 

Most of my selections would be of Coldplay. For starters, I'd make a tape of my playlist on Youtube "Coldplay Love Songs." It has songs like "Fix You, Swallowed in the Sea, A Message." I'd add "A Warning Sign," which has been playing in my mind these past few days.

A suggested idea is to have a forum for Coldplay playlists on Youtube. Sometimes these are hard to find, and it would be good to know about them.

The deadline is 7:00 pm GMT time. I believe that's 6 hours ahead of me. You still have 26 minutes if you wanna do it.

I like your idea of putting different Coldplay playlists all in one place. You might consider starting a thread for that in the Coldplay section.

 

But the purpose of the mixtape exchange is to expose the participants to new music... or at least music they don't listen to all the time. We're all very familiar with Coldplay here, so a Coldplay mix would kind of be redundant for most of us. :)

I'm satisfied with who I got, because I don't think we have the same taste at all. :wacko:

So I don't have to worry about giving him/her something he/she already has.

I'm just scared about not looking indie enough to mine :P Plus I had to get rid of some songs he already listens to.
