Snow is brilliant at first.

New Zealand's Maori name is Aotearoa (Land of the long white cloud).

The North and South Islands also have Maori names. The North Island has the name Te Ika a Maui. (I'm not sure what it means though).

And the South Island has the name Te Wai Pounamu (which means The Place Of The Greenstone). This is because greenstone was valuable to the Maori. Greenstone is also known as pounamu.

The country of Carnival only works after the Carnival!! Soo, here, everything is closed and the TV's programation all changed for the parade of samba schools in Rio and SP! My city is completely empty, everybody's travelling to enjoy the Carnival!

:jester:

I don't have school tomorrow.

There is going to be a battle reenactment this Saturday at Fort Anderson in Wilmington, NC. And next weekend, there is going to be a battle reenactment at Moore's Creek Bridge Battle. :nice:

That sounds cool! I always wanted to see a battle reenactment.

Uh . . . well, one of the currently popular songs in my college seems to be "Hey, Soul Sister" by Train, and many of my schoolmates are watching Glee.

Some huge issues going on around school are the recent budget cuts (which are also taking a huge toll on California), layoffs and furloughs, and a 32% tuition increase. Fun, fun, fun. :dozey:

Well...... everybody that goes to my school is an idiot who can't shut up for 5 minutes.

(Except for me of course :smug: )

There's at least 1 lockdown a week, the school is overcrowded, and there's trash everywhere.

It smells like weed in the lockerooms. There's always traffic. I can't wear red, nor blue.

There's a homeless man living behind Target.

Oh Los Angeles..... how I love thee. :laugh3:

Someone's son was charged with murder today...and I didn't win the London trip! fml! :/

Let's see here. Forbes magazine has published their new "Top 20 Most Miserable Cities" list, and Buffalo is number 8. Forbes seems to know what's what.

We've got a clown for an executive here in Erie County. We had a clown before him too. I don't remember any farther back than that but I'm going to take a wild guess and say that the one before that was also a clown.

Oh, a final thing about Erie County. We're in a major budget crisis:cheesy:. About a 25 milliion dollar deficit, how exciting!:cheesy::dozey:

Hmm...premier of South Australia is having a secret love affair and is being beaten up.

13 year olds are murdering 12 year olds.

In my town this lady was murdered by her husband and sons a few years ago and the trial has been going on all week.

Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooop:dance::dance: /sarcastic:dozey:

13 year old stabs 12 year old and now there is debate for bringing back school discipline instead of this passive bullshit that was never gonna work anyway.

THAT DON'T BEAT NO JADE BEAR MUTHAFUCKA.

(I'd take pics, but I thought I misplaced my camera, then realised it's now right in front of me, and am too lazy to go grab USB cable/resize/Imageshack hassle.)
