Christmas release is back on! Brian Eno talks to BBC6 Music (of all sources) about Coldplay recordin

Featured Replies

well the better tour after the album and come back to tampa. ive been waiting and waiting.....

Exactly. Don't get me wrong, those songs were great fun but from all the little tidbits Chris has shared about #5, they are looking to scale back. And they've also said they are not looking for Parachutes #2. I can't wait to hear what "arrives," as they like to say.

Ā

That's a decent point

I think we should all probably step back and assess this. Brian Eno just said they could be done by Christmas. Done certainly isn't released to begin with, what with all the mixing and other production stuff.

Ā

Brian also doesn't seem to be the point man on any of this. I know he's helping them create stuff and stimulating their growth, but I don't think he has much clue when they'll be done. The way he spoke seemed a little bit like he wasn't sure himself.

Ā

Basically I would be shocked if it came out this Christmas. I'd love it! But i'd be shocked. I expect an early 2011 release as well.

:awesome:

Ā

Although, I am still expecting an early-2011 release.

Guy's take on the matter from an interview with Terra

How will the next album? Do you have a big difference from the last? What can we expect?

We're working on a new album that is more acoustic, organic. Not want to sound small. We want great, but we have some limitations, you know. In the manner of recording, the equipment we use.

Ā

Yes, you used enough synthesizers and effects in the final disk. So the new album should sound very different ...

I do not know. For now, we are only using acoustic instruments and very little amplification. It sounded very good. We do not know where this is going. But we have many things written and we are well pleased with what we've done so far.

Ā

The disc should come out until Christmas, right?

Well .. that's the plan. But you know. We have an incredible ability to disobey the dates planned. I do not know. But hopefully, to finish this tour, we can return to work and finish as quickly as possible. The only requirement is that is good.

THX Guy!!! Always down to earth. He's cleaning Chris' mess as usual...

Im glad theyve kinda gone back to "basics" with the new albumn, Coldplay sound best when they are raw, like parachutes but better!

I wonder what sort of sound we'll hear on the new album, and whether it will be a conceptual one like the last
