you'd never think I was a Beatles fan :P

i really havent heard enough music from the 60s to make a decent list. it really stops for me after the beatles, the stones, the who, hendrix, dylan, cream and the doors.

Yeah same here :(. But for what I do listen to from the 60s, I would definitely make the Beach Boys win (or The Beatles...).

I think I'm just gonna ignore The Beatles for my list. They already get way too much credit anyway.

BLASPHEMY!!!

...I've lost a lot of respect

we're not talking about the beatles here are we..........:stunned:

how can people not like at least something about them! like soft rock listen to rubber soul. like guitar rock listen to revolver. like weird as experimental shit listen to sgt peppers. want genuinely brilliant songwriting that makes chris martin sound like an illiterate fool listen to the white album. like a bit of avant garde interspersed with sensible pop listen to abbey road.

they're not my favourite band but there is no doubting they made music what it is today.

could people do me a favour? when you're listing your faves from the 60s could you please put next to it the year in which it was released. i have a weird fascination with the period of music between 1965 and 1970 and i want to hear more music from it.

This would be fun if I wan't only familiar with music from the 2000s... :disappointed:

Me too. The only albums I know from pre-2000's are the Beatles, Styx, U2, and. . . yeah that's about it

I like some songs and I can see that their influence on pop music was major. But still, I think they are overrated, but that doesn't mean they are no good. I prefer the later weirdish stuff, but there are at least 60s 5-6 bands/artists I like better.

I have 22 Johnny Cash albums from the 60s in my library. I could make a Cash-only list. :wacky:

have the beatles won yet?
There is still hope. :P

Only 20

1. The Beatles- Sgt. Pepper (my first record I bought with my own money EVER!)

2. Led Zeppelin- I

3. The Yardbirds- Having a Rave Up

4. The Rollings Stones- Beggars Banquet

5. Jimi Hendrix- Are You Experienced

6. The Beatles- The Beatles aka TheWhite Album

7. Led Zeppelin- II

8. Cream - Disraeli Gears

9. John Mayall's Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton

10. The Rolling Stones- Let It Bleed

11. The Beatles- Abbey Road

12. The Who- Tommy

13. Steppenwolf- Steppenwolf

14. The Yardbirds- For Your Love

15. The Buffalo Springfield- Retrospective

16. Bob Dylan-Bringing It All Back Home

17. The Who- My Generation

18. The Rolling Stones- Out Of Our Heads

19. Jimi Hendrix- Electric Ladyland

20. The Doors- The Doors

is there a way we can extend it to like 50 albums or something?

like the 70's is going to be really difficult to only pick 20, there's so many great albums (the best decade for music IMO)

70s is going to be killer.

Although i don't actually have that many full albums, I'm more familiar with some singles from the 70s and 60s.
