June 6, 201016 yr Just imagine, X&Y was released five years ago, in England on June 6, and in North America on June 7. Time has gone so fast..., hasn't it? Does somebody feel nostalgic?
June 6, 201016 yr :surprised: wow... this means i have been a Coldplay fan for five years now! this makes me feel so special.:P *listens to X&Y*
June 6, 201016 yr I love X&Y. The first time I listened to it was a few months after I bought VLV. And I immediately loved White Shadows.
June 6, 201016 yr I don't really feel nostalgic because the first time I listened to X&Y was November of last year. Still cool though
June 6, 201016 yr Author I started listening Coldplay from X&Y. Before that I knew only Clocks. Then I was very striked by X&Y (song) during radio review of the album, so I immediately ran to the music store:rolleyes: Can't believe that it was 5 years ago!
June 6, 201016 yr Wow. So five years ago tomorrow morning, I was standing outside HMV in the pouring rain waiting for it to open before I ran off to class. Wow. Well, the weather hasn't changed, it's pouring rain. Neither has my writing portfolio. That class I ran off to was the beggining of 3 years and change of stress induced writer's block. The last time I got something half-finished was for it. But my word has my music collection and tastes changed. X&Y was a very big beginning in a way...
June 7, 201016 yr I love X & Y :wacky: I don't see why Chris was so insecure about it... Swallowed in the Sea, Til Kingdom Come, A Message and What If get me every time. :P
June 7, 201016 yr Five years ? So I remember, five years ago was the first time I heard of them. Some journalist on TV said X&Y was a masterpiece. I thought something like "Really ? It seems so weird, with those colours cubes on the jacket" Then I looked the Fix You video... and found it a bit boring ! It took me 3 years and the Viva album to realize how good they are. Now Fix You is in my Top 3 of the best songs ever !
June 7, 201016 yr ^ Fix you video is not boring :bigcry: it has an awesome ending and run :wacky:
June 7, 201016 yr Five years... wow. I remember buying the CD and playing it constantly in my car. Then on a 4-hour drive I was blaring it too loud and my speakers busted. (Who would think that Coldplay could ruin car speakers? ) Fortunately I was going to trade in my car in a couple of weeks anyway, so I didn't have to worry about repairing the speakers. However, I mistakenly left the CD in the player when I traded in the car, so I had to buy another copy.
June 7, 201016 yr ^ Fix you video is not boring :bigcry: it has an awesome ending and run :wacky:  Yeah, before the running ! ^^
June 7, 201016 yr However, I mistakenly left the CD in the player when I traded in the car, so I had to buy another copy. But maybe you've made the new owner a Coldplay fan as well :laugh3: 'X&Y' started everything off for me in a bigger way with Coldplay. Therefore I guess it's still my 'fave' album and I could listen to 'Speed Of Sound' for the rest of my life on repeat and wouldn't feel bored at all ;) It's pretty hard to chose a fave song of the album as I really like them all a lot. :) Unfortunately I wasn't able to see the Twisted Logic tour back then. When I decided that I wanted to go (I found no one who would join me), the tickets were sold out already so I missed that part ... :( Five years ... time really flies :stunned:
June 7, 201016 yr still my favourite album! :cool4: Really??? :shocked2: I mean so many 'early times' fans seem to tear it apart and say it's their least preferred album ;) :laugh3: I honestly thought that I was one of the very few people who like it massively :)
June 7, 201016 yr Back then, I was 12, careless, stupid and had no idea of THE music. The first time I listened to this album was about an year ago. Not my top favourite (that's AROBTTH and nothing can beat it), but it kind of has grown on me.
