They could not see the lines, people were slipping all over the place, and WHO PLAYS A WORLD CUP QUALIFIER MATCH IN THE MIDDLE OF A DAMN BLIZZARD?! Not to sound partisan, but I've seen much worse in europe without complaint. The ball was rolling fine, and when they stopped it in the 50th minute the ref talked with both teams and it was clear that everyone wanted to finish. Reilly Posted March 24, 2013 Share Posted March 24, 2013 Belgium have a very exciting young team at the minute, and should be expected to at least get to Brazil if not do quite well, but in the next few years there will be no limits for that team, especially if a few players continue developing at this rate (Lukaku in particular). The Japanese dominated possession and created numerous chances but the home side secured a memorable win thanks to some resolute defending and efficient finishing. After Japan went 2-0 down, Manchester United's Shinji Kagawa pulled a back in the 69th minute but experienced midfielder Yasuhito Endo saw his spot-kick turned around the post by Amer Sabbah. Fifa has rejected a bid by Costa Rica to have their World Cup qualifier with USA replayed after going down 1-0 in a game played in heavy snow in Denver on Friday. Costa Rica lodged a complaint about the match but Fifa say the match stands. As a result of the loss, Costa Rica are bottom of the final-round standings with just one point from two games. Costa Rican FA president Eduardo Li said of the conditions: "It was terrible. And even then, in what way did the US have an unfair advantage? The MLS plays in the summer heat, and your squad includes players who compete in Sweden, Norway, England, and Denmark.
