Whatever happened to the Viva Tour DVD?

Featured Replies

It's been 7 years since Coldplay's last official DVD - and I haven't heard any news what's happening with their Viva Tour DVD? (I've heard lots of rumours that they were waiting for the Latin part of the tour before completing it - but that was several months ago now)

Does anyone know if/when a Viva DVD is being released?

I don't think there will be one.

Why.. have Coldplay said so?

Is Chris bothered about his bald patch again?

I was actually wondering the same thing. I mean, they recorded numerous shows, some BOTH nights (Vancouver, Barcelona...) but nothing official has really come of it. Maybe they are going through footage and taking their time. After canceling the X&Y tour DVD, it seems awfully evil to also cancel a VLV tour DVD! :bigcry:

What a shame to NOT release a live dvd again (I've they cancelled it). U2 released 9 (!) live dvd/cd's by now :(

It annoys me because it would be so easy to do, they did it for free with LRLRL so why not get the dvd out for money? The X&Y live videos are amazing, i really dont understand why they are reluctant to release them, swallowed in the sea live from toronto was about a trillion times better than the album version, all of their live stuff is!!! DAMNN YOU ORACLE OR WHOEVER PULLS THE STRINGS!

any minute now until another petition appears

lol theres no point, the oracle said that even if any number of people sign it, its not gonna happen. I hold out hope for a future DVD called, "Coldplay - The ultimate Live DVD" which has all the eras on it. lets petition for that!

so sad about this.

damn oracle

for my next act: i will predict tmr's lottery numbers!

It's so sad!!! I kept hoping for one but the oracle said they won't. I don't get it! As far as I know there are more than just a couple of shows recorded, there should be enough footage to make a DVD. It would have been so nice, we could be enjoying it while we wait for the next album!

oh, well...It's not gonna happen I guess...but seriously, 7 years and no live DVD? I'll keep my fingers crossed for one of the next tour.

i'd love to see an a compilation live cd. i imagine this most be in some way about quality control, so you'd think if there were two whole tours of footage available they could find a few songs that look good filmed. i really don't understand why they have to be so difficult with this stuff. honestly, u2 has put out so many friggen live show dvds it's becoming a joke. but these have been fantastic tours that were fantastically attended. i just don't understand what could be so bad about the footage that they'd hold it back.

we should make like a BIG BIG complaint to coldplay for this

Maybe the thought that World Stage was already one?

And maybe they thought that we'd think that they're stuffing us with Live shows?

BUT A DVD TO PUT IT IN MY TV! :bomb:

Yes, let's complaint.

I KNOW! Let's all ask the same question in the Oracle.. or more like a complaint;

"WE WANT A VIVA TOUR DVD!"

Eh? Eh?

So when did the Oracle actually say there would definately not be one?!

^ search in the oracle thing

like 2 weeks ago :o

^^ OH YEAH we should all ask that
