Whatever happened to the Viva Tour DVD?

Long Live Life

Recommended Posts

It's been 7 years since Coldplay's last official DVD - and I haven't heard any news what's happening with their Viva Tour DVD? (I've heard lots of rumours that they were waiting for the Latin part of the tour before completing it - but that was several months ago now)

Does anyone know if/when a Viva DVD is being released?

I was actually wondering the same thing. I mean, they recorded numerous shows, some BOTH nights (Vancouver, Barcelona...) but nothing official has really come of it. Maybe they are going through footage and taking their time. After canceling the X&Y tour DVD, it seems awfully evil to also cancel a VLV tour DVD! :bigcry:

It annoys me because it would be so easy to do, they did it for free with LRLRL so why not get the dvd out for money? The X&Y live videos are amazing, i really dont understand why they are reluctant to release them, swallowed in the sea live from toronto was about a trillion times better than the album version, all of their live stuff is!!! DAMNN YOU ORACLE OR WHOEVER PULLS THE STRINGS!

It's so sad!!! I kept hoping for one but the oracle said they won't. I don't get it! As far as I know there are more than just a couple of shows recorded, there should be enough footage to make a DVD. It would have been so nice, we could be enjoying it while we wait for the next album!

oh, well...It's not gonna happen I guess...but seriously, 7 years and no live DVD? I'll keep my fingers crossed for one of the next tour.

i'd love to see an a compilation live cd. i imagine this most be in some way about quality control, so you'd think if there were two whole tours of footage available they could find a few songs that look good filmed. i really don't understand why they have to be so difficult with this stuff. honestly, u2 has put out so many friggen live show dvds it's becoming a joke. but these have been fantastic tours that were fantastically attended. i just don't understand what could be so bad about the footage that they'd hold it back.
