So this made me think, we all have really good taste in music and we seem to do a lot of playlist, top album, music things on here. So what about the Ultimate Summer Playlist? Who would you put on it?

 

For me I always think of summer as driving in your car with windows down and blasting music. So I wouldn't mind jamming out to: The Hives- Hate to say I told you so

Last night I was driving around to the movies blasting Red Heart bu Hey Rosetta! And .... the new Evanescence song.... :lol: I also played Live 2003's A Rush of Blood.

I'm going to take the obvious cheesy route and say "Summertime" by DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince. Because IT JUST IS.

Fader by the Temper Trap is a perfect summer song :sunny:

One of my classic fave summer songs is "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth (Hot Summer Night)" off Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell album. Too cool

^ I agree with that one. I also fancy "Sweet Escape" by Gwen Stefani, "Boys of Summer" by Don Henley/The Eagles, and "Hella Good" by No Doubt... along with MANY others that will come to my mind later I'm sure... :)

"Thunder Island" by Jay Ferguson is also pretty good.

For some reason, I could see the boys performing that on the C stage sometime. :D

Obviously lots of Coldplay songs are great for summer like Lovers In Japan or Strawberry Swing, but for me summer is a time for quintessential pop music, like Summer Girls by LFO or even songs like California Gurls by Katy Perry. Summer is a time to move to a catchy beat, so it's the one time I find myself listening to a lot of popular stuff. Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis and any of the songs by The Kooks are great too
