Okay, so I realize this is a Coldplay thread not in the Coldplay section....BUT. The World of Music seems to be filled with quite a few folks who don't visit the Coldplay section, at least not daily like this section of the forum.

 

I'm interested to know if people in this section are bigger fans of Parachutes or A Rush of Blood To The Head. I think those two albums brought quite a few posters to this forum. Which album do you like better and why?

To be honest, I'm not really sure. :thinking: I think I like AROBTTH a tad better, though. They're the only Coldplay albums I still listen to.

I think AROBTTH is better but my favorite is Parachutes.

I think overall I enjoy listening to Parachutes better. AROBTTH has some great tracks on it, but it also has some overkilled and sort of boring tracks.

 

I find songs like Don't Panic and Trouble are just timeless classics that always sound good.

Can't choose it. My brain freezes.

Parachutes hands down. It has less overplayed songs (can't stand those at all) and I like the other songs better than the ones on AROBTTH. I love the opening track, title track and the last two tracks, but I always skip Yellow/Trouble. From AROBTTH I only like Amsterdam and the title track, never listen to any of the other songs anymore.

 

I can't listen to In My Place/Clocks/The Scientist/Yellow/Troube because those songs give me an instant Coldplay overdosis. I need months to recover from that. :tongue:

As much as I like Parachutes, I like AROBTTH more. I like how it's a more confident-sounding record, with powerful songs like Politik and God Put a Smile upon Your face. It has more "oomph" than their first album and still has emotional, gorgeous songs and melodies (e.g., The Scientist, Amsterdam).

 

And there's my two cents.

Those songs are pretty bleh imo. :shrug:

Clocks has definitely been overkilled. Every aspiring piano player has played it too many times. :P

For me Trouble was overplayed, now I just skip it :blank:

 

Don't Panic and Amsterdam are my favorite songs from each album.

...Well, I guess based purely on sentiment, AROBTTH, because it's the album that made me love music and I still adore it. (And it's the one Chris signed. :D) But well, Parachutes is the one I own on Vinyl. It's not exactly second best.

both are nearly faultless records. a rush of blood would be in my top 10 albums of all time so it's a clear choice but parachutes is my favourite album to listen to if im up after 2am (after maybe kid a)
