Do you care about celebrity culture?

Yeah.

They can't even go outside without getting swarmed by paparazzi, that would piss me off to no end. :bomb:

This is one thing that I do wonder about major celebrities, don't they get bored? Unless they're on holiday somewhere remote or full of other very wealthy people, they can't go outside. That would drive me nuts.

I always view their lives as moving between rooms, not able to roam free as it were. Obviously most people live like that literally speaking, but it's so much more restricted for them. The places they can go that we can't seem far more secure, such as parties and vip areas. Whilst we can't go to those places with them we can go everywhere else and even though we aren't alone we will not get pestered.

I only care about four celebrities, and they are:

:chris:

:jonny:

:will:

:guy:

I am aware that that was rather predictable. So sue me.

Exactly, it would be horrible. Imagine not having the freedom to just go for a walk, go see a movie, look around a shitty market and not actually buy anything, everything would be indoors all the time.

They can't go to the beach without people taking pictures of them and saying they look fat. :|

Everything you do has many things read into it. People try to derive inspiration, hate, or anything from even the tiniest things you do. Even the most flippant thing in public is analysed and discussed and you are supposed to explain why you did what you did and what it meant. If you frown it is pictured and your life is falling apart. If you smile and it is pictured then everything is going well with your life or you are over past troubles or show no remorse for your previous actions.

I can't say I am at all, unless it has something to do with a celebrity relevant to my interests, which I wouldn't even get too deep into anyway.

If you smile ... show no remorse for your previous actions.

When Cheryl Cole was in trouble for being racist or whatever (Not the time she punched someone, recently when she made some decision or something on the Xfactor which was apparently racist) I saw a picture of her on the cover of a magazine smiling, and the headline/article was about how she felt no guilt over 'what she's done to the nation' and it's like, for fuck sake, I don't know what she's done but is she not allowed to smile this week?

It's amazing how often musicians look wistful in photoshoots, but never in pap snaps haha.

If anyone's ever found themselves in the Entertainment section of a News website, it's kind of strange, you see quite a few articles you want to read and you end up ploughing through everything. Then after about 15mins you have to think "Why the fuck am I reading about Gordon Ramsey's dog?!"

In general not at all, although they are exceptions

Actually, it's even worse than that - it's his wife that was selling them, on eBay!

Oct 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Cherie Blair, wife of Former Prime Minister Tony Blair, has seven homes, a high paying job, and reportedly is a multi-millionaire, but recently went to Ebay to sell her husband’s autograph…for only £10.

Known for collecting “freebies” whenever she can, and shopping for cheap trinkets on the online auction site, Mrs Blair has a penchant for bargains. Selling her husband’s autograph has surprised many, however.

The offer for the scrawled name was originally £25, but she had to drop the price two different times before she finally obtained one-and only one bid. It was written on a “bookplate” page from Blair’s new book of memoirs, ‘A Journey’. The listing stated, This bookplate has been signed by the former prime minister. This item fits perfectly in to Tony Blair’s new book. This is a hand-signed bookplate and not a (sic) autopen or copy.’ The name of the buyer was not given.

She's also meant to be a rude person. She came to an arts event a few years ago and someone I used to work with had to do cleaning at the event. She told the guy that he looked scruffy when it was pretty obvious that he had been cleaning all morning!

As for the topic... I can't say I'm not interested in it. I don't really buy magazines but I'll read them if they're lying around (my housemate buys them all the time). They can be quite entertaining but I usually don't know half of the people they're writing about.

sometimes I used to read perez hilton so I can't say I don't care, but I'm fine if I don't read about that stuff, I just do it when I have lots of time.

hmm, I check out what they were wearing during an awards event or something, but I don't really care to things like Heidi and Spencer's porn movie plans or any of that crap

He should have replied, yeah but I can get changed whereas you're always going to be a ugly, wrinkly old miserable bitch, I would have, it would have been worth losing your job for.

I just did this right now, and the funny thing about Entertainment News is that there seems to be no real rules of journalism, they can practically make a news item out of absolutely anything even if it's barely relevant as a significant story:

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/news/a288873/playmate-has-crush-on-gerard-butler.html

Like that for example, let's get this straight- a woman who's a Playboy slut is slightly attracted to an actor that generally women are attracted to, let's make this an article.

More seriously Do you care about celebrity culture ?

before I read the tabloids, but I was fun to read but for a while no more watching the TV, newpapers or celebrities and what she tells in the tabloids in TV because, well, I become paranoia.......... :freak:

and the only reality TV I watch is Gordon Ramsey's

I do not know maybe because my sister and her husband cooks.

True! He said he felt like saying something along those lines but he didn't because he was a poor student and couldn't afford losing his job. It would have been so funny though!
