I know Chris likes to recycle the same lyric or phrase over and over but I think it is unfortunate that two of the more distinctive lines in Christmas Lights "poison in my blood" and "I always loved you and I always will" were just used in Wedding Bells. Just my two cents.

 

The lyrics from the 60 minutes version were also scrapped.

the "oooh" bit was also the same one that Chris sang in the version of Wedding Bells he performed at that Apple thingy :wacko:

But Wedding Bells was never released and most likely won't be, so what's the problem with the lyrics? It's not like it hit big on the charts and they're capitalizing on that. They've said they have written way more songs than will be on the album, which doesn't mean all those songs need to be totally different - they choose the "best" ones.

 

It's not uncommon, either, for Coldplay to use the same themes in different songs, ie "feet don't touch the ground."
