Space Cadet
For the record, there were 179 albums which received 1 vote. That's nearly 2/3 of the albums voted for this year. Perhaps some of them are just as if not more worth looking into than the top ranking albums. It's like an indie kid's treasure trove down there. Space Cadet
All in all, I think everyone should be commended for how much more adventurous the world of music section's tastes have gotten over the last 5 years. We've gone from nothing much beyond Coldplay clones, to a fairly wide range of less-than-mainstream choices. I know this poll has had a drastic impact on what I listen to, hope it's helped out a few others as well. And with that I bid you all goodnight.
Violet
1. Thanks so much, Space Cadet, for taking all this time to do this for us! :nice: 2. YAY MUSE. /fangirl. 3. "Perfect Symmetry" at #3 for 2008? :inquisitive:

The Escapist
^THIS. You did a wonderful job organising. THANK YOU. I just finished reading through the whole thread, it is very evident to see that it is a popularity contest but the results are surprisingly accurate at reflecting the general taste in the WoM. I'll probably try and do a more detailed analysis later.
Famous Old Painter
Foals in the top 10? The National in the top 2? Famous Old Painter approves! Nice to hear High Violet was almost gonna tie for #1, it deserves the spot. All in all, a surprising list! There were a lot of albums I was quite surprised didn't chart higher, and a few which charted a lot higher than expected.
The Final Track
Guess I need to listen to her sometime then? Jedward are a pair of cheesy identical twins of X Factor fame. I couldn't tell you what they sound like, though, I've saved myself that anguish. Yes. Yes, you must. Oh, I guess I'll steer clear of them then. 39. Joanna Newsom - Have One on Me It ranked higher on Museforum :uhoh: Ah, good to see it that high at least. 34. Laura Marling - I Speak Because I Can :awesome: Only 9 of my Top 25 are actually going to be in the Top 25. I wonder what that says about me. I think I had less :inquisitive: 22. Kings of Leon - Come Around Sundown :disappointed: 21. Frightened Rabbit - The Winter of Mixed Drinks 1985 pts - 7 votes :awesome: 17. Broken Bells - Broken Bells 2595 pts - 11 votes :awesome: My compliments to The Final Track, who didn't quite get the order right (one album off) but did predict the contents: :awesome: :awesome: And thanks to you for organizing this :awesome:

the_gloaming09
Thanks for organizing and putting this all together Mo... turned out really well! I'm interested but also pretty happy to see how this list turned out. Definitely had a few surprises in terms of the order and placement of some albums, including a few that I thought would do better.
Megalomania
Thanks for doing all the work Space Cadet! (Sorry, I don't know your name. :shame:) And as to the Top 26 albums, I'm happy to see Muse dominating two of the lists. :dazzled:
