January 21, 201115 yr School-wise. I have barely been in school this whole week Monday- off for Martin Luther King Jr. Day Tuesday- Snow Day Wednesday- Delayed opening because of ice Thursday- School Friday- Snow Day I've never had such a messed up week. In all my school years. :lol: Did anyone else have something like this this week? :anxious: Or is it just in my area? :lol:

January 21, 201115 yr As a child living in Ontario we would sometimes literally have weeks of school off with the snow, well that's when we moved to the country, in Toronto we didn't miss much because everything was ploughed quickly. AND THIS IS WHERE I ALSO GREW UP MY PARENTS DIDNT DIVORCE OR ANYTHING WE JUST MOVED HOUSES WHEN I WAS 10

January 21, 201115 yr Author what on earth is a snow day too much snow for the buses to safely get around to pick up the kids so they just cancel school This. It's actually a "bad weather day", as it could be for an ice storm as well. They cancel school if they consider it unsafe for buses to be driving around in the weather.

January 21, 201115 yr Monday: I wasn't at school, because i was ill. Tuesday: School. Wednesday: School. Thursday: School. Friday: School. We never get snow days, because everybody in my area is somehow used to the snow. :|

January 21, 201115 yr Well, I think it's more for liability reasons now. Some parents would whine, threaten to sue because their precious kids aren't 100% safe, blah blah blah. When I was in school we were lucky to have 1 snow day during the year.

I didn't think of that. :thinking: You're probably right though. Although I've never had so many snow days as this year. . . usually just one, maybe 2 in the whole year. We got a whole lot more delayed openings though.
January 21, 201115 yr Hah! :snobby: :P Do you ever get snow? :uhoh: It usually only snows once or twice a year, and melts as soon as it hits the ground. Last year though, it snowed twice and both times it didn't melt when it hit the ground, and it was so beautiful. We got one snow day :wacky:
