How do you listen to music?

Featured Replies

How do you listen to music? MP3 player, iPhone, radio, internet, vinyl?

If the 50’s and 60's were the era of the record, in the 70's we had tape, (lovely 8-tracks and cassettes!), and the Sony Walkman, then CD's in the 80’s and now MP3's.

This Day in Music is running a poll to find out how you listen to your music.

If you fancy having a vote http://tinyurl.com/tdimpoll

iTunes on the computer, iPod in my room & car (long-journeys), car radio on short journeys

Winamp at home, iPod if I'm out, CD's (mostly mixtapes) if I'm in the car.

Mostly CDs in the car and while I'm taking a shower.

iTunes on my computer.

mp3 player when I'm travelling by plane, train etc. (seldom).

Quite a lot online through links to YouTube etc.

A few radio shows recorded via my SkyPlus box.

I reckon that just about covers it.

Vinyl thru the 70's into the 80's

8 track and reel-reel in the 70's /early 80's

Cassettes mid-80's to early 90's

CDs early 90's-2005 or so...

Presently primarily MP3, but definitely still CD and occasionally vinyl.

I listen with iTunes if I'm using the computer, otherwise I use my ipod.

Kelsie, we always have the same responses. :P

Youtube and albums at the moment because my iPod is dead. :|

I use Windows Media Player lol. Im basically on the cpu all day anyway

Used to use Winamp but it started getting buggy on me and I switched to Songbird today, I really like it. I don't like the iTunes interface, it's annoying and to my knowledge there isn't even a way to enque songs (maybe you need an add-on? does Apple even let you do that without hacking your copy? I dunno... Apple is just so non-customizable usually, which is not to my taste).

My old mp3 player broke so when I'm out of the house it's an ancient (8 years old, I think... so half as old as I am haha) 1 GB player for me that's served me well in between all my normal players for a few years now.

Then CDs for music that I can blast, and a lot of my dad's old vinyls for if I want to listen to classical or jazz/blues/whatever. (<3 vinyls, our player's a little shitty though.)

Unless I'm working at my computer (in which case I put my iTunes on shuffle), I use my mp3 player. I do use my CDs on occasion, but it's not an everyday thing.

Mostly my iPod, and when I use my desktop (which I rarely do) I use iTunes.

I rarely listen to the radio.

I occasionally listen to a cd in the car as well.

ipod or winamp in pc

ipod when I'm out of my home and spotify or itunes when I'm in the home. Sometimes youtube as well but mostly only when I try to find new music

ipod while on the go. laptop when im studying/working. cd's when im just relaxing.

My cell phone mostly (MP3 player) , but also Windows Media Player when I'm on the computer or sometimes CD's in my room.

same here

iTunes on the computer.

iPhone when I'm on the go.

Radio in the car.

itunes p much all the time (headphones + sometimes in my cd players speakers). ipod when i'm out and when i'm in bed. vinyl on the weekend sometimes (i share a record player with my dad + brother) and cd's in my room if i really want to

Usually I just listen to it on the computer. It's the easiest. I don't ever burn cd's. Only occasionally to listen in the car.

But I just got a new Blackberry Smartphone, and I intend to use it quite a bit for the Mp3 player.

Winamp can be quite buggy; I'd say that's its one major flaw. I can't use my iPod with it anymore, so I have to use iTunes as well, but only to load songs onto my iPod. I just can't stand iTunes. They're always shoving products in your face and it's quite annoying. It tries to consume your computer and do so many things on its own. Maybe I'll try Songbird out.

My ipod, most of the times. Or my computer. :nice:

Sometimes youtube as well but mostly only when I try to find new music

This! I do that to find new artists all the time. :D

Ipod on the go or in the car. Ipod, computer or radio in my room. I can't listen to music through headphones when I'm studying, though
