What's the best british band at the moment?

Featured Replies

Burial? Four Tet? Burial's first album as good as anything The Beatles released? Fuck me! That's an isolated opinion if there ever was one. Might as well have said McFly while you were at it. Getting your April Fools in late? Don't think people have quite grasped the idea of pioneering/revolutionary music.

I was thinking in terms of experimentation/revolutionary/influential shit as I feel this album was just as important to the electronic music scene as The Beatles' albums were the the pop/rock scene. I myself (my opinion) put the album up there with The Beatles' albums (my opinion).

Yeah, I'd put Aphex Twin in there too btw, though he has been quiet of late. Still active though.

Please don't be. I mean if you think Burial is as good as The Beatles then good luck to you fella! Now I'm off to read the latest Katie Price novel. It's just as good and influential as anything Dickens released. FUCK DAT OLD SHIT.

Well hey, this beats television at least.

He's too proud of himself for only liking the general british music scene and hating Radiohead.

You've finally crawled out of The Radiohead thread. Well done

You've finally crawled out of The Radiohead thread. Although I'm not surprised after listening to TKOL. LOLFUL

Crawled out? I barely posted for 3 weeks you little obsessed stalker :D

TKOL I like, I just don't like.. what do you call it... Sharing with fans? That's possibly the main reason why I don't post in that thread that much.

I also enjoy how you make your posts (I don't know if you are honestly sharing your extreme opinion) sound like you're pathologically thinking you're RIGHT in everything you say about the bands you love.

What I criticize about you is your own critic towards everybody's opinion here. Why can't they just NOT THINK THE BEATLES ARE THE BEST REVOLUTIONARY ASS FUCK BAND IN THE WORLD?

I don't give a crap if you keep saying U2 and Coldplay are the best british bands out there, that's just your opinion.

What I dislike and disapprove of your posts is how you simply attacked Eddie for voicing his opinion, ditching him and almost calling him an ignorant, when, in my opinion, he seems to be far more educated (musically) than you are.

And no one necessarily needs to love The Beatles or the "legends" to actually know about good music.

You sir, you are the real LOLFUL you little ass burned :nice:

I really don't know how to respond to that. Incredible!

But little ass burned? Don't get aggressive. I'll put on your hat for a moment and say that you are clearly an individual with clear anger management issues. Laughable assumptions yet again from yourself. How high can you reach?!

Haha see?

You didn't even respond to my post.

Keep being such an idiot :nice:

Believe me that post didn't deserve the dignity of a response...again. It was just non sensicle irritated prattling....again.

not to jump on the bandwagon but I think the way that you approached your methods to other peoples opinions is where you went wrong howyousawtheworld.

I am a HUGE Beatles fan, no other band I love more (except Radiohead). However mocking people for saying that an album isn't as good as any Beatles album is ridiculous. There are plenty of songs and albums that are better than some Beatles songs. If there weren't then no one would bother to listen to any other band. No band is untouchable, nor is there any band that everyone can agree on.

Do I personally like Burial as much as The Beatles?... no way, but you can't knock someone or think their are musically inferior for saying that Burial or any other artist is better than The Beatles. How can you really measure something being better? It's all a matter of taste

You don't even deserve the dignity of having an opinion if they're all so fucking ridiculous coming from your thick head.

I don't think so. I was discussing the impact of those bands from the 60s who emerged and changed the face of music as a whole. I personally find it ridiculous how Burial can be seen in that same light. Yes his debut may be good but it's not earth shattering. You've got to have a historical backing to prove how influential this or that album has been, if not we can name any album and it just becomes personal opinion. Some people have clouded personal preference with fact.

Coldplay is the best, and the best live band also, then after that it is Muse, because I like their guirar parts.

I really don't see what you're child like petulance brings to this thread or this forum in general. Ridiculous but laughable at the same time.

Your arrogance does the same for you. That's why most people always question your opinion.

Well in that sense yes they did have a huge influence. At the same time if you go by that then since then besides Michael Jackson there's been no other important band which is ridiculous to even think.

I mean from what I've seen from your posts I don't think you listen to too much electronic, and I think that Burial is a pretty popular electronic artist.

And even so what does it really matter? Does it make any artist more or less worthy?

It's always good to have an opinion but you can't seem to define opinion from fact.

I'm not a massive electronic listener and while Burial may be incredibly influential in his field I don't think it extends into other fields of music in the way the bands mentioned did.

Don't you think that's being a bit close minded and elitist?

And also if are not a big Burial listener, how can you make an accurate assumption?

If that's the case then why don't we all just say that Beethoven and Bach are better than anyone else ever in the history of music, and leave the discussion at that?

The Beatles being the best?

That's opinion, not fact.

Yes. It's an opinion but it's an opinion shared by millions others but that doesn't make it right. But their influence isn't. I don't like Radiohead but I won't ever deny their influence within their genre.

God, no one is denying that.

This is all about your arrogant/elitist comments.

You just admitted it's all about opinion and just a few hours ago you posted that stupid comment ditching Eddie's comment.

It's his opinion. While it might sound weird for some, that's what he feels like and what he thinks about Burial and you can't just dismiss it just cos you can accept anything influential other than the obvious bands.
