Things That Shouldn't Be Illegal

Featured Replies

Why would you get bashed for that? That's totally sensible.

Anything that doesn't harm another human being should be legal, because laws are just opinions with guns. Who am I to judge what you do with your life, and who are you to judge me for what I do with mine? If somebody else wants to snort cocaine off a hooker's ass, in what way does that affect me? It doesn't, and therefore I don't have the right to judge.

"There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible to live without breaking laws."

– Ayn Rand

pretty much how I see things and being legal.

But I think that pot should be legal... it seems like it could help in many regards ("war" on drugs, taxes, etc), also it's much less deadly than alcohol and cigarettes which are legal

abortion is murder. its wrong.

Do you have a uterus?

I just think there should be a bit more freedom of it in some countries. Plus people need to stop acting as if women are going to pregnant all the time and then be heartless and constantly get abortions.

OKAY back on topic,

In Alabama it is illegal to wear a fake moustache that causes laughter in church.

That's just fucking disgraceful...why can't that be legal?

I agree... plus it's a womans body, so their choice.

that's ridiculous... stupid religious folk

How the fuck did you work that one out?

Did your school fuck up when teaching sex ed.

I wasn't even trying to start a debate, if you're genuinely pro-life and haven't even heard of the old "Aborting the child is the same as discarding semen" argument then this debate shall have no wings, go discover the other side of your ignorance.

Do you have a uterus?

So what if I don't? What difference does it make?

I'd like to see the day when people protest that law, just them all out with picket signs and laugh inducing moustaches

Law in Michigan: a woman isn’t allowed to cut her own hair without her husband’s permission

 Seriously?

It was semi joking Open,Politik.

But now that you ask ... Well for one guys are not the ones who have to carry the baby for 9 months ( and majority of the time the mother is the one who plays the main role in bringing it up as a young baby )

D: just go back to my previous reply. I would like the laws to be atleast looser. I know men have some work in making a baby but it's not going to lines of pregnant women, who have not told their partners about it, outside abortion clinics.

You're from England and I doubt the majority of people who get them are like that.

This is supposedly a law in Ireland

"Any person who shall pretend or exercise to use any type of witchcraft, sorcery, enchantment, or pretend knowledge in any occult or or craft or science shall for any such offense suffer imprisonment at the time of one whole year and also shall be obliged to obscursion for his/her good behavior"

Couldn't you have asked a rhetorical question so that he can answer it and ignore all the other reasonable points?

I know

Reilly, I have to say that your sig and avatar combo is one of the best I have ever seen.

For me this doesn't matter as I think even having one abortion is wrong really.

There are always other ways to deal with a child whether it'd be adoption or bringing a child up yourself. I just cant justify termination a child's life like that especially if someone says, "Its a womans body its her choice" The baby is a separate being altogether but just so happens to be inside of her. If murder is against the law, then killing a baby ought to be as well.

Also, If a pregnant mother is murdered, then the murderer will be prosecuted for a double homicide. This law obviously considers an unborn child a real person to be considered. Why then is abortion legal?

I didn't answer because because both points had been made and no more was needed to be made.I didn't want it to go out of hand and spoil the thread of the original purpose.

But funny that a guy who said previously he is not entering a debate about this scenario, is taking the micky out of me for doing exactly what he did....

....

Did you know that in Texas up to a felony charge can be levied for promoting the use of, or owning more than six dildos?

Thankye the ELS! Do the strut.

To be fair that is a fair point, but I felt that if you had not heard my argument before, which is basically the simple minded pro-choicers first turn to a debate, then I don't think you are worth the time and effort to have a debate with. As I said, try and look into the idea of a being that isn't aware it exists and relate that to a sperm, the brain in a foetus has not developed to realise human emotion or existence by the maximum period that it is legal for an abortion to happen (This period is actually well within that period) so to me it is no different then discarding sperm. You seemed so alienated by this and questioned my knowledge of sex education that I felt you don't have a clue about human consciousness and realisation of self, so until you get past that first stumbling block and start to look at a situation realistically then I won't acknowledge total ignorance and lack of reasonability.

For me this doesn't matter as I think even having one abortion is wrong really.

ok, your opinion. if you ever get pregnant, then don't get an abortion.

Of course, but I think it is the woman's choice. Whether you think her decision is morally ok is your opinion, but the baby is inside the woman.

Also, who says it's a baby yet? (this can be going down the path of stem cell research as well. . .) what if the "baby" is merely a few hundred cells, would it still then be murder of a human being? if it doesn't have any tissues, organs, or systems? because then it's technically not even an organism yet.

Also, If a pregnant mother is murdered, then the murderer will be prosecuted for a double homicide. This law obviously considers an unborn child a real person to be considered. Why then is abortion legal?

Because it was not the mother's decision to have that unborn child terminated, and usually if they classify the woman as pregnant then she's farther along in the pregnancy, when the fetus is in fact closer to a baby than an embryo.

^not to turn this into a pro choice/life debate but I agree what you have said. Yes it is unfortunate and not an easy decision to make. But being that it is part of her body she has the right to decide if she wants the baby or not. Not to compare it to something like a tumor or cancer, but if someone had that they should be able to decide what they want to do about it. When it comes to a persons body they should have the final say.

But still... I'm not saying that the decision of an abortion is easy. It's a grueling process that I'm sure would scar the mother for rest of her life.

Completely agree with everything you said as well.

And like you said, it's certainly not an easy decision and currently there is no clear "right" decision. :\

In all seriousness female breast exposure shouldn't be illegal

indecent exposure (women only)

Do you mean like exhibitionism?
