am I the only person that told somebody that I liked them and they said no?

It's not the end. There are others out there. I'm currently in a bad way about something similar to this because I just can't let go... Even when there's obviously nothing there anymore. And that is because I didn't try to move on straight away. Don't make the mistake I made.

Oh, goodness no, child. That's what usually happens to me when I say that I'm interested in a guy. It just so happens that this time, I got lucky. I didn't mean for my thread to make you feel bad, Anette. I'm really sorry.

Thanks guys  I feel like an attention whore now :blank:

It wasn't your fault Violet  I just thought it was sad/funny.

Of course it has happened to me many times but since everybody here has gotten together and I tried it and it was a fail :(

I'm too much of a coward to someone that I like them :dazzled:

You shouldn't feel that way at all. I feel like this is part of what the Lounge has turned into. It's a place where we can talk about things like this and have it be completely OK. It's funny how it works that way, but it's true.

I know you said it wasn't my fault, but I can't help but feel at least partially responsible. :\

You know, Anette, stuff like this in general is about trial and error. You try something, and sometimes it doesn't work. All you can do is keep trying different things until something works. You're still young, and you have plenty of time. (Ironically, this is what people were telling me a few weeks ago when I made that thread about how lonely I was. Funny how that works.)

It happened to me... twice :(

You're too good for them :snobby:

Thanks Violet

I find it so weird yet amazing how we're all like a family :awesome: And to get over somebody you need to stop thinking that they'll go to you or come back to you :surprised:

I've been feeling a little depressed and lonely, because he was my friend and I've been sort of drifting away from my other friends, which made me see that I can't let something so small that will happen to me many times control my life.

I'm really young :anxious:

Again, don't feel bad you didn't know :nice:

It's been the opposite for me and now all of your wailing and consoling is making me feel like a shitty guy, although one did actually hurt a lot, she was kinda my best friend and I saw and still see her as a friend, now I'm off to cry in mah bed

Really? :surprised: I won't hate you.

It's never happened to me but if it did I would not beat myself up because I might not have said anything and the guy might have liked me back and then I would have missed out on maybe something great. Sometimes if you never try then you never know :)

A guy asked me out and I said no, then I cried because I felt horrible.

I don't think I'd be able to tell someone If I liked them so just be proud that you told them how you feel

Well, don't feel bad if you said it nicely.

He just said it.. well he just said that he liked someone else and they already have a relationship and that he's happy and he didn't care about me or thought I was serious.

It wasn't mean, but he could have mentioned something of how we were friends or I don't know..

he's just an ass okkk

I'm sorry :(

when you're young you can still find someone who really loves you and you can rebuild your life.

I'm always far too shy to tell someone if I like them. :shy:

I was in the opposite situation once, it wasn't very nice at all. After he told me (in a really sweet way), and I said no (and I explained it as kindly as I could), he went and drank himself stupid and passed out. We didn't talk for a while (it was mega awkward) but we're back on good terms now. I felt awful though :(

Thanks Violet

Yeah, I agree. It's really cool when we all come together on stuff like this. :nice:

See? You learned something from this experience. You're already making steps in the right direction. :D

Alright, Anette. Thanks.

Too true. Sometimes, the reward is well worth the risk.
