  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

that last one looks like Thom's checking out her boobs. lol

hahaha, thats awesome. It sure does.

ahh... now i'm even more nervous! can't wait to get this lp... i think these songs are done really well, but i can't judge yet. :P

but on the other hand i'm satisfied and calm as i know now that this is going somewhere

All I Need, Down Is The New Up and Arpeggi sound great on these studio pieces, and they are the ones that were rejected, which means they will be even better !!

...

God I can't wait

It's a fantastic song. It's just not a fast one. I'd say it's easily the best from Kid A, one of the best songs ever. When the last chorus starts after the '...and huuuricanes' you have to be pretty odd to not feel moved.

The canal+ version is perfect.

I love In Limbo.

I noticed when I was listening to it on Friday.

On A Friday. No, a particular one, the last one.

I'm not saying Treefingers is bad, I agree that it's amazing, I just thought that the review was funny. like, you know, you don't have to agree with something, but you can still find it funny. like the spectographic analysis of Thom Yorke's voice at radioheadsucks.com... Yorke and Duck duet .. wtf, right? but funny nonetheless. i wish the clip was longer though.

That website is nuts anyway.

Treefingers is an amazing song. They say it's instrumental, but you can clearly hear voices at 0:47 and 1:34 saying "hello?" and there's some high squeaky voicelike sound that repeats at 5 second intervals starting at 2:14 and 3:13.

What?

Never noticed that.

Oh no, not that pic again.

Hmmmmhhhh... That is a really nice shot.

I've seen that one before. Just smaller.

Colin still looks as good as ever.

Awwww, that picture is so sweet.

lp7 is going to be masterpiece..i can feel it

me too!

I don't think this means they're rejected. Arpeggi's agreed by most to be one of the strongest of the new tracks. Bangers 'n' mash and open pick get kind of polar reactions though. DITNU is a favourite of mine. Assumiing I understood you correctly...

According to http://www.citizeninsane.eu/cuttingroom which is fast becoming one of my favourite websites, the new song could be 'A Pig's Ear' as apparently you can hear the start of 'you made' sung at one point, which features in one of Thom's scrapbook lyric pages under that title, and 'A Pig's Ear' appears on one of those blackboard pictures of new songs. I'm not sure i believe this really, as it's pretty hard to tell what's said, and 'you made...' could appear in any number of songs, but I thought it was interesting.

Anyway, I have excitement coming out of my eyes.

Happy 10th Birthday to OK Computer for tomorrow

Oh, it was on Friday? Good to know.

Happy belated birthday, OK Computer.

What the! zfuflssgfrraar.... wow.

That was no ordinary update. If that's the cut stuff, I really want to hear what the kept stuff sounds like now.

For anyone else who couldn't get through:

Yeah, couldn't get through. I was like WTF?

I didn't get it.

it's a picture from a photoshoot, not some random paparazzi type of picture. it wouldn't have made it into the magazine unless it looked the way it was intended to look like.

It's great. He looks quite feminine in it.

Looks like photoshop to me... the head is the wrong size for his body, there's cut marks around his hair, and the lighting on his face is from the wrong angle. I'd say someone went to a lot of work for something stupid.

I can see that.

It could still be from a real photoshoot.

Here you go :)

Hmmmhhh, I really like that one. :) Thanks a lot.

I really dont like this last one! :furious:

that last one looks like Thom's checking out her boobs. lol

:laugh3: There was this discussion on atease about it.

Actually Thom looks really sweet in the picture. :smug:

That jonny pic was for you marek!

And i dont think thom looks cute on the last pic, he looks horny :P

Thanks for the samples, they sound fantastic! Can't wait for the new album. :)

This version of Kid A is currently my favourite. I like it soo much... especially those flutes.

Does anyone know the meaning of this song? It's quite hermetic imo. I've read that it was influenced by Lord of the Flies by William Golding but in which way/which lines? Is it that We've got heads on sticks line? It's the only one that I could associate with the book (along with kids) but more because of the words, not the meaning.

(random fact: he died yesterday, 14 years ago...)

^Have you read the book? Its one of my favourite books of all time. I can relate to it from working at camp, just seeing how boys can be so wild at times.

But yeah, the two things you pointed out, thats all I can see for an association between the song and the book.

Kid A has actually been the radiohead song I've been listening to the most lately. I just love it live.

I love that book aswell :) it's been a long time since I've read it but still.

Oh, LotF fans! *does the happy dance* Yup, I've read the book and I loved it. :nice: It is kinda horrible (well the things that are happening are horrible), but great. I have to read it again. It's been 4-5 years since I've read it.

I read it last year for school...and watched 2 movies about it. But I would love to re-read it again as well.

I managed to stumble across the live version of this song, totally rocked the socks off the album version. Thom goes an octave high on "Standing in the shadows" and the musical aspect of it is a lot more better to listen to,so I know what they were trying to get with the album version, but I think its better live.

Oh, and its gotta be about drugs. Kid A speaks to me about something very innocent and well-meaning and naive, but maybe also potentially very powerful. Its a little incoherent, but its full of a slightly awkward benevolence to the world around it, although there is a suggestion of somehow being controlled.:)

You didn't come up with that yourself did you.

Well you didn't, but I guess I didn't make myself clear enough : what I meant is of course they're gonna be on the album, but those are pieces of these songs that were rejected, cut off during the mix, which means the actual songs will sound better than these samples.

Which is a really good thing I think.

Sorry about that, hard to tell what someone means in sometimes when it's in writing. :wink2: Anyway, I totally agree with

Haha, yeah good that misunderstanding is cleared up.
