Arcade Fire

Featured Replies

I've heard a lot of people talking about how Charlie Brown is very Arcade Fire-ish.

People on TEHYOUTUBES are saying things like, "Oh Coldplay has done it again. Now they're copying Arcade Fire."

I haven't really heard that much of Arcade Fire to see this so, do you guys see what these hooligans are talking about?

What is a song by Arcade Fire where you can hear elements that are similar to CB?

I'm just curious, not trying to start anything about CP stealing. I just like to see what bands inspire other bands.

Charlie Brown? seriously?

I love that song but I can't see the similarities

Ummm... no. I think you're thinking of HLH.. while I can see hints of Arcade Fire inspiration in that song, I don't really think Charlie Brown sounds anything like Arcade Fire.

Agreed. HLH has an Arcade Fire feel to it, there's no doubt about it. That doesn't mean they're copying or anything, but there is something reminiscent of AF.

It was a joke somewhere that Coldplay had stolen the Viva album from Win Butler while he and Chris were playing ping pong...I think. Fun fact.

haha ^

I love both that band and that song, but really? I can't hear it. So maybe they were referring to that joke.

No, this comment was about Hurts Like Heaven, which actually has a Arcade Fire Touch, but not about Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown is kind of suburbs-ish. HLH, not so much.

Cartoon Heart was up on the board well before The Suburbs single was even released.

I remember there was a thread in the AF forum making fun of coldplay and Chris Martin

I like how some people have compared HLH to Springsteen and others have compared HLH to "Keep the Car Running" by Arcade Fire. Of course, "Keep the Car Running" is totally influenced by Springsteen.

Bottom line is that everything sounds like something else and there's nothing you can do about it.

I have the hunch the song aiko will be similar to arcade fire's neighborhood 2

must be just me , but dear Lord there is nothing authentic about the sound of Arcade Fire. I can NEVER remember ONE song by them, one melody.. NOTHING! saw them live on a festival and wanted to shoot myself. respect, but can't understand the fame about them... Coldplay is much more melodic and authentic

Maybe I saw the majority of the OMG ITS ARCADE FIRE comments on HLH and then I saw one guy who didn't know what he was talking about say that on CB, so, what's so Arcade Fire about HLH? Is there a video thats very HLHish?

anyway the only two arcade fire songs that i like are neighborhood 2 and the suburbs.

No, it's just that the melody is very Arcade Fire-ish.

They're both great, Laika's my favorite song by them. Have you heard Sprawl II?

That's music! (:

I wish more people understood this.
