August 4, 201114 yr Hi guys! Once again I don't know where too post this to get my answer  (sorry, but this forum is a little confusing to me...) The song Politik is one of my absolute fave coldplay songs and I have been wondering this for quite some time. Does anyone know why the band decided to spell Politik with a "K"? That's not how it's normally spelt in English, is it?
August 4, 201114 yr No, it's usually spelt with a 'c' at the end. Very good question that i've never thought about, might be worth asking The Oracle about if someone here doesn't already know, I sure don't.
August 4, 201114 yr Author Politik means policy in German I think Well Politik means politics in swedish. But i don't think that's why they spelt it that way... :P
August 4, 201114 yr The "k" it's to enphase the meaning of the message they want to pass through the song, I think. To be politik - it's a stronger word to spell than "policy" is... just my opinion.
August 5, 201114 yr Dont know why but in Spanish if you read politik .. K sounds ca. And forms politica = politics :P
August 5, 201114 yr Politik with a "k" because it has special properties that way, super K force properties! :laugh3:
August 8, 201114 yr Author So I just asked the Oracle about this. but how about you all also send this question to the oracle and then he/she might actually answer it! If there is a lot of ppl aksing the same thing I think there is a bigger chance of getting an answer, don't you?! :D
August 8, 201114 yr Oh is it? In what way? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztWItz7tcaA]Coldplay - Politik - StoryTellers - YouTube[/ame] 5:26 in and also http://www.wikicoldplay.com/Politik
August 9, 201114 yr Author Coldplay - Politik - StoryTellers - YouTube[/url] 5:26 in and also http://www.wikicoldplay.com/Politik Aha, but then it's not about 9/11. It just happened to be released around that time.... It's about what Will says: someone's belif of what is wrong and what is right! They still don't tell us why they spell it with k

They still don't tell us why they spell it with k  No sorry, my bad I missunderstood what Guy said! And also how could it have been released around 9/11 when the album was released 2002 and politik never was a sigle, stupid me! :P
August 9, 201114 yr It's about the state of the world. not 9/11. but sorry i don't know why it's spelled with a ''k''
August 9, 201114 yr Author It's about the state of the world. not 9/11. but sorry i don't know why it's spelled with a ''k'' This is said aboute Politik at the oracle page: August 27, 2010 - submitted by Maria, United Kingdom Q. Dear Oracle this is true or false Politik was written days after the attacks of 11 September 2001? Thanks Lovely Oracle The Oracle replies: Actually yes, Politik was written in the wake of that tragedy and very much inspired by those events.
August 9, 201114 yr I don't think there's necessarily a reason guys, but that's my opinion. Politik looks rather beautiful as a word though. The "k" to me seems to be guarding the "i"s. But maybe I'm mental. Prospekt also has a strange "k", as does "Lukas". It is one of my favourite song titles ever though. I'm in a band and wrote a song which I named Potencia in Politik's honour.

Well, maybe they just like "K"! :P
September 21, 201114 yr It's a reference to the German word "Politik" which means policy. "Tell me you're own policy.." makes sense. "tell me you're own politic" doesn't. That's what I have always believed anyway.
September 14, 201213 yr Maybe it has to do with numerology K is the 11th number in the alphabet which would also make K 2 K - 11/2 represents extremes 11 - 2 = 9 Politik = 11 open up your eyes....

September 14, 201213 yr Prospekt is the name of the character of the song, Chris saind once he chosed this because Prospekt means street on russian, or something like that. And K is just such a cool letter to use
