Honestly, no, I think they've got a couple more in them.

Chris seems like one of those guys that couldn't stop if he tried. What else would he do?

I thought that a while ago Chris stated that he does not think "bands should keep going past the age of 33", but later rephrased this to say that what he meant was that they must proceed "as if it's our last, because that's the only way to proceed".

 

So, it's not their last. Kinda very obvious. Anyway, at last a new topic / not repeated thread.

It would be interesting to know what their contractual obligation to EMI is. They may very well have to produce an album six or seven to fufill it. Not that you want a band that you love only making music because they are legally obligated to...

 

Anyone with some knoledge on the music industry know how this works? If a band signs with a label for say, six albums, do they have to produce six albums or does the label just have the rights to six albums IF they are produced?

I hope you're right! I don't know what I would do without Coldplay. Seriously, it would be bad.

I LOVE Coldplay!!! They have been my favorite band since I was, like, seven... which was about ten years ago. I think they'll release a couple more albums! But after that I'm hoping another band/artist will come in and take their place!

 

I think Arcade Fire is the next runner up once Coldplay leaves :) But we still got a loooonngg time! All sorts of things happen within a period for 7-10 years.

I think they want to be a memorable band..and they wouldn't be thaaaaat memorable or redeemed with just 5 LP's.

They're too known to just make 5 albums lol.

Its hard for me to believe that they will find new motivation after this 3 year process of recording a new album in which they put everything. I really look forward because it will be a masterpiece, so its hard to make a new album afterwards...
